Job Description

About the Company:
This 25-year-old organization has grown into an industry leader in pallet manufacturing, recognized for its cutting-edge technology, automation, and service-first approach. Originally founded by a tech-focused entrepreneur who never expected to stay in the space, the company has evolved into a trusted partner for Fortune 100 and 500 companies, especially those in high-risk, compliance-driven industries like petrochemical. With the ability to produce, this operation mirrors the sophistication of major tech manufacturers-with a deep emphasis on efficiency, yield optimization, and customer value. Known for reliability and long-standing relationships, they continue to innovate while staying grounded in service excellence and quality manufacturing practices.

The Role:
The Procurement & Commercial Strategy Lead will drive sourcing strategy, optimize raw material utilization, and launch a new revenue stream through component sales. While procurement is currently effective, it's underutilized-taking just an hour a day. This role presents an opportunity to take ownership of procurement and enhance value through smarter sourcing decisions, vendor relationships, and yield management. You'll work closely with manufacturing to fine-tune yield calculations, improve margins, and support operational efficiency. Additionally, this role will lead efforts to develop and scale a commercial strategy for component sales, expanding the company's value proposition.

Benefits and Compensation:
  • Competitive base salary starting at $100K and tailored to experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance with 85% employer contribution
  • 401k with company match
  • Stable, growth-oriented environment with long-term leadership vision
  • Career development within a company known for innovation and reliability

Community:
  • Diverse and Dynamic Economy: As one of the largest metro areas in the U.S., Houston boasts a strong economy anchored in energy, petrochemical, aerospace, and medical industries-making it an ideal backdrop for a business like this.
  • Cultural Richness and Culinary Scene: With world-class museums, a vibrant arts district, and one of the most diverse food scenes in the country, Houston is as rich in culture as it is in opportunity.
  • Affordable Living and Family Appeal: Houston offers an affordable cost of living compared to other major metros, top-rated schools, and family-friendly neighborhoods, making it a great place to build a career and a life.
