About the Role

The Commercial Operations Analyst is responsible for leveraging HubSpot data to deliver actionable insights, maintain data integrity, and drive operational efficiency across our commercial teams. This role will play a key part in auditing CRM usage, identifying process gaps, and ensuring that our data, reporting, and workflows empower Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and has deep hands-on experience working with HubSpot’s reporting, automation, and data management tools.
 

What you will do 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CRM reports and dashboards to track KPIs, pipeline health, lead conversion, and other commercial metrics.
  • Conduct deep dives into CRM data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to translate business questions into data-driven insights and recommendations.

Data Integrity & Auditing

  • Run regular CRM audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and resolve duplicate records, incomplete fields, and inconsistencies in CRM data.
  • Monitor user activity and adherence to data entry best practices, providing feedback and training where needed.

Process Optimization

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to optimize HubSpot workflows, sequences, and automation.
  • Recommend improvements to lead management, deal tracking, and reporting processes based on data insights.
  • Document processes, standards, and usage guidelines to maintain a high level of CRM adoption and efficiency.
  • Work closely with RevOps, Sales Ops, and Marketing Ops to align reporting and maintain a single source of truth for commercial data.
     

What we are looking for 

Experience:

  • 1–3 years in a data-focused operations, sales operations, or business analyst role.
  • Strong background in running CRM audits and implementing data quality improvements.
  • Exposure to commercial operations in a SaaS, tech, or high-growth environment preferred.
     

Skills & Competencies:

  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly.

**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other field with an emphasis in analytical thinking (i.e. mathematics, social science fields, etc.). Six years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
+ Must be able to handle time pressured deadlines on an hourly and daily basis.
+ Ability to work 12-hour shifts with partial work on nights and weekends when working in Power Operations and partial on-call availability over weekends when working in Gas Supply is required.

**Project Description:**
Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support our Commercial Operations department within our Generation Organization at our T3-Denver Headquarters in the RiNo neighborhood in Denver, CO. Commercial Operations is a dynamic business unit responsible for optimizing Xcel Energy's electric generation resource portfolio and delivering cost-effective power and gas to customers through fuel purchasing and planning, market coordination, and forecasting and analytics. This paid internship provides practical work experience to develop your existing skillset and collaborate with key internal stakeholders. Interns will be relied upon to play a role in achieving department objectives and goals. The program will allow you to apply what you've learned in school and further enhance your knowledge through hands-on training and provide opportunities to network and learn the utility industry.
Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
· Produce Plexos production forecast models, analyze outcomes, and present findings to all areas of Xcel Energy
· Track the logistics, storage, reconciliation, and accounting of various solid fuels.
· Analyze long-term natural gas deliverability options for planned resources.
· Facilitate business planning, communications, and organization for Com Ops
· Prepare presentation materials for white-papers and Xcel Energy board meetings.
· Process large volumes of data into meaningful displays and dashboards under the guidance and tutelage of experienced data scientists
· Schedule and deliver gas and electricity from source to demand centers.
· Monitor the electric grid in real time to critically commit and dispatch generation resources; prepare PCI models to offer resources and bid load into organized markets.
This position is for a June 1st, 2026 start. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate's successful performance and Xcel Energy's business needs.
