JOB DESCRIPTION
+ Lead communication strategies for campaigns, focusing on audience engagement and progression through the consumer journey.
+ Present clear recommendations to Leadership for approval and implementation.
+ Support the communication needs of the business and drive creative innovation across all channels to ensure a healthy consumer journey.
+ Adapt segment and communication strategies into channel-level tactical plans that clearly communicate the 'why' and 'what' to the channel teams for planning, execution and performance optimization

THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a **_Wireless Communication Systems Engineer_** to participate in all phases of wireless technology projects including planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days on-site per week is required. On-site days are the following: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Algorithmic development, simulation, implementation, and testing.
+ System performance simulation, benchmarking, and testing.
+ Fixed point modeling and FPGA design and verification support.
+ Support FPGA and Software development teams for hardware/software implementation and troubleshooting.
+ Setting and tracking development schedules and tasks.
+ Design and participate in lab and field testing and troubleshooting.
+ Technical material preparation and documentation.
+ As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ M.S. or Ph.D. in the field of wireless communications and signal processing, electrical engineering or a related field.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems.
+ Knowledge and experience with RF propagation and channel modeling.
+ Knowledge and experience with digital communication systems such as RF subsystems, synchronizations, channel estimation, channel coding, etc.
+ Knowledge about signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM.
+ Experiences with fixed point modeling, implementation, and verification.
+ Expert in MATLAB programming and simulation.
+ Travel Requirements - Infrequent travel to support customer interactions or test and demonstration events.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Experience in modeling and mitigating RF impairments to signals such as AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset, etc.

The location for the _Wireless Communication Systems Engineer_ role will be our new Silvus office in **_Irvine CA._** The position will be on a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of 4 days/week on-site (with the occasional drive to the LA HQ as needed).
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ System design and requirement specification.
+ Algorithmic development, simulation, implementation, and testing.
+ System performance simulation, benchmarking, and testing.
+ Fixed point modeling and FPGA design and verification support.
+ Support FPGA and Software development teams for hardware/software implementation and troubleshooting.
+ Lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers for product and feature development as needed.
+ Setting, tracking, and driving development schedules and tasks.
+ Design and participate in lab and field testing and troubleshooting.
+ Technical material preparation and documentation.
+ Participate in R&D business development and capture efforts as needed.
+ Understand current products and technologies and brainstorm with other teams for future enhancements and strategies.
+ _Infrequent travel to support customer interactions or test and demonstration events._
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ S. or Ph.D. in the field of wireless communications and signal processing, electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or relevant engineering fields.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems.
+ Participation in the complete wireless technology development cycle: from design to field testing.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in RF propagation and channel modeling,
+ Comprehensive expertise in all parts of digital communication systems such as RF subsystems, synchronizations, channel estimation, channel coding, etc.
+ Proven expertise and ability working with signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM, etc.
+ Strong understanding of modeling and mitigating RF impairments to signals such as AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset, etc.
+ Experiences with fixed point modeling, implementation, and verification.
+ Expert in MATLAB programming and simulation.
+ **Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts**
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Wireless mobile ad-hoc networking, medium access, and routing algorithms.
+ Cognitive radio congested and contested spectrum and interference mitigation.
+ RF sensing, signal detection, and classification, etc.
+ Technical writing and presentation.

We are looking to add a Principal Systems Engineer I to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge phased arrays for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems, we would like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system engineering, experience in space technology, and the ability to be the technical point of contact for our communication programs. In this position, you will help develop space architecture concepts, sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment. You will coordinate activities across multidiscipline engineering teams, raise issues at the program level, and help drive complex programs to success.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
    • Collaborate with the program management team to support project scheduling and coordination.
    • Partner with program management to be the primary outward-facing team with external customers for technical baseline discussions.
    • Act as the liaison between program management, engineering, and manufacturing ensuring effective and organized communications.
    • Participate in the development of system engineering processes for requirements management, flow down, and traceability.
    • Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Identify and resolve issues that may impede the progress of engineering teams.
    • Foster a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement within our programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
    • A minimum of 9 years of experience with emphasis on space-based communication payloads.
    • Practical experience with antenna and RF systems.
    • Experience working with product/component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality to the overall system.
    • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
    • Proficiency with a requirements management tool such as DOORS or Jama.
    • Ability to define work direction, track milestones, and demonstrate progress on large open-ended projects.
    • Sense of urgency, with the ability to work well under pressure.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities, with the capability to identify, assess, and resolve complex technical challenges and design issues.
    • The ability to work well with multifunctional teams.


$150,000 - $185,000 a year
