This position oversees multiple vendors and partners while collaborating closely with the RBID team on a wide variety of activities and channels. As part of the placemaking team, this person will add creative ideas to engage and build community while also contributing to strategies that enliven public spaces through visual/structural elements as well as event activations.
RBID is looking for a highly creative, energetic and get-it-done professional who will instill a forward-thinking approach to activating our neighborhood and creating an exciting sense of place with high levels of engagement. The right candidate will possess outstanding project management skills, strong initiative and a team spirit and passion for creating great experiences. They should have a comfort level in producing highly professional, large-scale community events in a diversity of venues that span from public parks to private indoor facilities. This position has decision-making and budgetary authority and requires an ability to navigate regulatory requirements, juggle multiple priorities and details as well as an ability to manage vendors/partners.
This role includes one remote day per week and requires occasional evening and weekend availability for events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with BID leadership, creates an annual events and activations plan; manages event and activation related activities from start to finish. Works with staff and/or project teams to strategize and determine the type, scale, tone, theme and content of events, proactively setting and articulating all roles and responsibilities. Assists in determining and measuring the long and short-term goals and outcomes for all events
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with vendors, artists, county partners, community groups, donors, and other providers; continually seeks out new and on trend partners and influencers to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Assures that all event contracts and contacts are maintained and updated in the organizational database.
- Collaborates with the Communications & Marketing team to manage the event marketing process via internal channels, social media channels, influencer outreach, paid advertising, and printed collateral.
- Supports Engagement team in business related activations/events.
- Serves as a member of the BID’s placemaking team, collaborating to develop a place strategy that includes providing support and guidance to property owners, managers, and other stakeholders on how to leverage events and creative placemaking techniques to activate their properties.
- Stays abreast of trends in event planning, event analytics and public realm activation, sharing findings with staff, looking for ways to continually advance the program. This includes systematic review and evaluation of initiatives and events using data and analytics tools to judge effectiveness.
- Manages the Events Coordinator position, helping to mentor and grow them in their role.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, plus 4-5 years of relevant experience in event management, with additional project management or placemaking preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a busy office with a lot of inbound requests and opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills with interest in interacting with diverse community members.
- Experience working with Arlington County, Virginia ABC and other government agencies on zoning & permitting processes a plus
- Some personnel management experience a plus.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends required.

The Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) seeks to eliminate inequities resulting in premature mortality. With an unwavering grounding in history and structural analysis, CHECW works to increase visibility of the harm perpetuated by socially unjust policy while pushing towards redress for the most impacted NYC communities. CHECW addresses inequity across community and healthcare systems in partnership with community, faith-based, and health care organizations. CHECW's work focuses on social determinants of health, including environmental and commercial determinants, and addresses both upstream and downstream factors to improve health and well-being of New Yorkers. The division's Deputy Commissioner also serves as the Agency's Chief Equity Officer and oversee Race to Justice, the Agency's internal reform effort to help our staff learn what they can do to better address health gaps and improve health outcomes for all New Yorkers. The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems is the healthcare systems bureau of DOHMH situated within the Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness and supporting the strategic plan and vision of the Chief Medical Officer. Our mission is to apply policy, evidence, and practical expertise to improve equity in health care delivery at the individual, organizational, financing and systems levels. The Office of Health Insurance Services (OHIS) provides community -facing programs and on-the-ground programmatic work that maximize health insurance coverage opportunities and increases access to social support services such as assistance with SNAP applications to address food insecurities for all New Yorkers. The program is seeking to hire a Community Events Coordinator to build partnerships with community stakeholders and develop effective messaging to disseminate to communities and demographics that are at a higher health risk. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: Develop and coordinate a health education training series to expand the Certified Application Counselors knowledge of products and services provided by individual health plans. Develop vast knowledge of these products and services and create a list of specialized products and services that cover chronic illnesses (e.g. HIV, diabetes, etc.). Bridge healthcare access gaps and develop linkages with Community Board Health Committees to promote health literacy, insurance enrollment and access to affordable healthcare. Work collaboratively with PIT to promote health literacy and participate in the creative development process for OHIS Promotional Multimedia Campaigns. Administer the program's health insurance enrollment activities and assist clients in applying for other government sponsored programs such as SNAP benefits; SSI or Medicaid, Medicare, and the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) for the aged 65 or older, certified blind and/or disabled. Niantic's Monster Hunter Now team seeks a Community and Events Manager to plan, coordinate, and host player meet-ups around the United States. Join us in crafting real world social experiences to encourage outdoor adventure!
Niantic Marketing drives community-focused initiatives for our global audience of tens-of-millions of users, using key partnerships and creative campaigns that reflect the spirit of our company's mission.
As the Monster Hunter Now Community & Events Manager for the United States, you will help develop community strategies for Niantic's real world augmented reality mobile games. You will coordinate community events and player meetups to attract and retain players.
Work with product managers and marketers to plan and implement engaging events and meetups.
Responsibilities- Conceptualize, coordinate, and host engaging community player meetups and in-person events based on the Monster Hunter Now mobile game across the United States.
- Work with other international Community & Events Managers and Niantic marketing partners to develop a template for events that can be replicated.
- Keep a pulse on the local player landscape by tracking players' behaviors, comments, trends, talkability, and content.
- Identify relevant insights from online community performance and offline community conversations to help report to the team on players' opinions and requests about the game.
- 4+ years of relevant events and/or community experience, with a specific track record in hosting player or customer events.
- Comfortable traveling and working solo in different cities around the United States hosting player events.
- Thinks creatively, and loves innovating while following established processes.
- Undeterred by quick turnaround times, multi-step approval processes, and trying new things.
- Good at paying attention to details, communicative, self-motivated, and works well with others.
- Keeps up to date with social media, community, and gamer trends.
- Experience in community building and knows how to complete online & offline activations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately, with adaptability to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams with the ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
- You are an avid fan of Niantic's games, specifically Monster Hunter Now.
