There will be challenges:

You will also learn about the different agencies and resources we work with to help you provide support directly, or indirectly, to the Individuals. - You will learn to take a customized, "person-centered" approach by leveraging your knowledge of the Individual's abilities, medical condition, history, and their Individual Service Plan as you work to provide Individuals choices, instruction, and guidance in developing social and/or job-related skills.
- You will train Individuals on task-level actions to perform their job duties/assignments effectively and in a timely manner and coach them to have positive interactions with others, e.g., teaching socialization and job etiquette skills, etc. as they work at a job or participate in work-type experiences in the community. You will also be required to keep accurate daily notes and provide input to personalize or modify their training needs and/or schedule as needed.
- You will participate in all required training, team, and company meetings to build your knowledge, skills, and abilities to grow in the Family. We like to promote from within our own house!
- You will take ownership of your own behaviors, and help coach others over time, in how to effectively demonstrate the company's C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).

· Complete and submit a weekly schedule of activities to your supervisor. Notify supervisor of any changes in schedule of planned activity as soon as the change occurs.
· Provide updated copies of driver’s license, vehicle insurance and registration of any vehicle(s) used for transporting individuals. The employee is required to have their own reliable and in good working condition in order to transport individuals.
· Notify supervisor immediately if there is a lapse in vehicle’s insurance or if driver’s license or vehicle registration is suspended for any reason.
· Other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The Community Support Professional is responsible for the safety and well-being of deaf individuals, as well as providing specialized care and training in all areas of activities of daily living, as well as social, recreational, and vocational activities, with an emphasis on community inclusion and integration. The CSP will assist in optimizing individual independence while supporting work habits and ethics, promoting communication, and fostering growth and exploration related to areas of individual interest. The CSP will provide support, as necessary, to reduce challenging behaviors so that community integration is optimized in a safe manner. The responsibilities and schedule of the CSP must be flexible to meet the changing needs and lifestyle of the individual(s) served, and the CSP position is not specific to one residential service location.
Pay: $15.50/hr
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high quality care and support to our deaf individuals.
- Thorough knowledge of individual(s) Individual Plans (IP), including knowledge of preferences, needs, and desires; and consistent implementation of recommendations
- Assist with individual(s) participation in scheduled community or facility-based activities and assist with schedule development, as requested.
- Explore community employment options and/or volunteer opportunities and help to develop skills and competencies necessary for individual(s) to pursue competitive integrated employment.
- Participate with individual(s) in community activities, organizations, groups, associations, volunteer opportunities, or clubs to develop social networks, especially activities that provide purpose and responsibility or development of hobbies.
- Assist individual(s) with financial management, budgeting, and the purchasing of preferred goods or products.
- Assist individual(s) in learning to navigate the local community, including learning to use public or private transportation and other transportation options in the local area, where relevant.
- Observe changes in behavior and physical condition and report accurately to the Program Manager
- Support individual(s) to develop and/or maintain social networks and reciprocal relationships with members of the broader community.
- Assist with ongoing training of individual(s) to develop independence in daily living skills/job duties.
- Maintain various records pertaining to individuals served, following timely and proper documentation methods following service delivery.
- Transport individual(s) to and from community engagement opportunities and activities, facility engagement, and/or volunteer sites as needed (to be designated by CPS Director).
- Attend required in-service training and complete all required and/or assigned employee trainings in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 18 years of age, required.
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Valid driver's license, required.
- Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred.
- Fluent in American Sign Language, preferred, or willingness to learn
- Regularly required to lift 10 lbs.

- Provide services to individuals based on their unique goals and behavioral care plan. This includes:
o Teaching individuals how to accomplish their goal (rather than completing a task for them).
o Using behavioral strategies that support individuals and address any behaviors that do not lead to their success.
o Motivate and encourage individuals to participate in their behavioral care plans and reach their goals.
o Participate in recreational, community, and social activities with those you serve, honoring the choices of the individual.
o Display and understanding of when it is appropriate to apply rights-restrictions, only as determined by the interdisciplinary team and when indicated in the individuals behavioral care plan.
- Provide complete, consistent, and accurate documentation of the individuals progress.
- Provide safe environments and instruction to individuals served regarding the practices that will help them reach their goals.
- Be an advocate for individuals receiving services to have as much control over their own lives as possible. All individuals should be treated with respect and should feel empowered to live their life as independently as physically possible.
