    The Digital Engineering team is focused on improving patient outcomes and delighting our customers.     As a Compliance Engineer, you will work closely with our engineering managers, technical and feature leads, and scrum teams to provide engineering excellence in the areas of product compliance and audits. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's technical compliance capabilities according to local, national, and international regulatory standards. You will have a sound technical background and be up to date with the latest regulatory developments in the industry.

    Let's talk about responsibilities:

    The Compliance Engineer will work with software development teams to ensure all regulatory and company requirements are met. Responsibilities include:

    The face of the Audits: Act as SME for all the audits for ResMed's digital products. Represent ResMed Engineering in audits, including but not limited to HDS, MDSAP, SOC2, and MDR.

    Technical Design Review: Identify and evaluate technical design alternatives to achieve desired functionality in partnership with cross-functional team members and Systems Architecture Leaders.

    Educate the engineering teams on the design review needs and facilitate the design review process among those teams. Enhance or modify existing design review processes. Help resolve technical issues.

    Safety Risk Analysis: Drive the bug-triage process and help determine issues that impact patient safety. Participate in the product roadmaps and influence the release of features based on safety risk analysis. Act as a bridge between Product Engineering and ResMed Quality/Regulatory teams and bring knowledge on the latest safety-related standards.

    Apply expert regulatory knowledge: Tackle intrinsically challenging problems with implication to regulatory requirements from around the world.

    System Specification: Ensure the company's technical compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with engineers and designers to deliver compliant products and services. Responsible for researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes. Ensure product achieves performance, functionality and reliability as specified in the marketing and systems specification documents.

    Deployments: Act as SME for formal releases to ensure meeting all the needed compliance and regulatory-related deployment documentation.

    Post Market Risk Assessment: Prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends related to post-launch market data.

    Let's talk about qualification and experience:

    • BS/MS in any engineering discipline. Computer science preferred. No hands-on coding experience is needed.
    • Working knowledge of regulations including but not limited to MDSAP, ISO13485:2016, IEC62304, SOC2 controls
    • 3 years of experience delivering medical products and navigating through audits like MDR, SOC2, MDSAP, HDS, or any other regulatory framework is a plus
    • Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks.
    • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of Software Product Life Cycle (SDLC).

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $90,000 - $150,000/year. For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,000 - $118,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary: Schneider Electric is seeking a dedicated Regulatory Compliance Engineer to ensure our data center liquid cooling products meet all relevant safety and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to support new product development and sustainment, managing testing processes with third-party labs, and maintaining necessary certifications for global market access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and conduct compliance tests, perform diagnostic procedures, measure performance, analyze findings, and troubleshoot failures.
  • Document compliance through approval applications, test results, investigative reports, Declarations of Conformity, and maintain a compliance database.
  • Organize compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and acquiring resources, including in-house testing and third-party test houses.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external engineering consultants to resolve technical issues and enhance system features.
  • Ensure certification reports and records are up to date with engineering teams.
  • Support production facility compliance inspections.
  • Investigate and source special equipment, materials, or devices, obtain quotes, and prepare requisitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred knowledge of UL, electrical hardware components; VFD, Circuit breakers, fuses, power supplies, motor controllers, disconnect and reading electrical schematics is a must.
  • Knowledge of specifications, codes, and standards in commercial HVAC and datacenter industries, including safety, electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage, and environmental directives (RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
  • Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements such as FCC, CE, and NEC.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 for creating tables, charts, and data input.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% annually.
  • Effective performance of assignments with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
  • Office environment with minimal lifting of up to thirty pounds.
  • May require navigating stairs and maneuvering through the plant environment for guided tours.

Regulatory Engineering Team Member

As a member of the Regulatory Engineering Team, you will ensure customer applications and hardware developments meet the regulatory standards of industrial, medical, and computer equipment. Successful candidates will have experience in some or all of these fields and will be able to orchestrate test plans, explain requirements to customers in engaging and helpful ways, problem solve non-compliance issues, and excel at collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team. OnLogic's regulatory team is extremely forward thinking in its methods and truly an asset to the organization playing vital roles in sales and engineering. On an average day, you'll coordinate product safety, EMC, and RF testing with nationally recognized testing laboratories, such as UL, Intertek, TUV, for requesting quotes, developing test plans, and obtaining product safety certifications.

You will also experience performing product evaluations and testing to applicable product safety standards for information technology equipment and medical equipment, such as UL/IEC 62368-1, UL/IEC 61010, UL/IEC 60950-1, and IEC/UL 60601-1. Prepare samples and conduct product safety testing according to UL/IEC 62368-1, UL/IEC 61010, UL/IEC 60950-1, and IEC/UL 60601-1. Prepare samples and conduct testing for ITE and medical EMC emissions and immunity requirements for FCC/IC Part 15, EN 55032/EN 55035, IEC 60601-1, EN 50121. Provide the design team with guidance on best practices for product safety and EMC defensive design at the PCB level and highly skilled in EMC mitigation. Prepare and conduct testing for shock and vibration according to MIL-STD-810G, IEC 60068-2-64, and IEC 60068-2-27. Prepare samples and conduct testing for wireless compliance according to FCC and EU R.E.D. directive and sometimes performing co-located transmitter compliance spot testing. Basic understanding of global market access to countries such as China, India, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, UK, etc., in addition to the US and Canada. Keep current with frequently changing compliance standards and plan for future compliance strategies. Create, implement and maintain tools to automate the compliance process and data management tasks. Work with a cross functional team to meet the customer and OnLogic's regulatory goals in a timely manner. Track and improve the regulatory teams key performance indicators and drive process improvements. Maintain CE technical files for self declarations. Coordinate product labeling and manual requirements.

The team you will be joining: Our Engineering team creates our cutting edge industrial computers by finding innovative solutions on a daily basis. The Engineering team's success relies on collaboration, creative thinking, and a commitment to being at the forefront of technology. Roles on our Engineering team include Electrical, Mechanical, Applications, and Regulatory.

Requirements: You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field or technical training in product safety, RF, and EMC compliance. Experience in product safety and EMC defensive design at the PCB level and an expert in EMC mitigation. Experience with Google tools preferred. Experience with using root cause analysis to identify process improvement opportunities. You have a minimum of 6 years of regulatory engineering experience. Experience in product safety, and EMC (including but not limited to CE, FCC, CB, and UL/cUL for ITE, Industrial, and medical applications). Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
