The Computed Tomography Technician performs routine and specialized imaging procedures utilizing ionizing radiation in accordance with professional and departmental standards. The CT Tech produces high-quality computerized tomography images used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. What you will do in this role:

• Assist and position patients on the CT table with compassion.
• Start IVs for contrast injections as necessary.
• Assess image quality and make adjustments when needed.
• Provide patients with post-procedure instructions.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited program recognized by relevant accrediting agencies.
• American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) certification or registry eligible, with completion of examination within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of Advanced CT Registry within 6 months of eligibility.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

• Able to accurately complete radiology examinations as ordered by referring physicians.
• Experience with Radiology information systems to access previous examination reports.

Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
• Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Associates Degree, preferred

• Experience: One year experience in CT scanning, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: 
  • NH Medical Center- Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R) or RT(N) or CNMT at time of hire. Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) or RT(N)(CT) or CNMT, RT(CT) within 6 months of hire, required.
  • NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility or Hospital Outpatient Department-Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) or RT(N)(CT) or CNMT, RT(CT); required.
  • NH Medical Group Office-Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) or RT(N)(CT) or CNMT, RT(CT); required.
  • IV Credentialed, required.
  • Applicable state license, required.
• Additional Skills Required: Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates CT equipment.
