Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
- Show expertise in all facets of computerized tomography (CT) including positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors for CT Systems and associated equipment.
- Utilize the Radiology Imaging System and Meditech for scheduling exams and tracking patient progress.
- Provide appropriate care for patients across all age ranges from neonates to geriatrics.
- Adhere to safety policies, identify potential crises, and execute preventative measures.
- Maintain cleanliness and inventory of CT rooms while following disinfection procedures.
- Demonstrate independence in assignments and effectively collaborate with the team and supervisors.
Additional Roles:
- Access radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents for prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist in waste and inventory management of controlled substances.
- Commit to the mission of Methodist Healthcare System and assist in achieving goals.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Uphold the MHS Code of Conduct and address any violations of laws or regulations.
- Participate in continuing education and training within the department.
- Engage in CT Radiation safety initiatives and ensure adherence to departmental policies.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of starting employment.

Job Summary and QualificationsThe Computed Tomography Technician performs routine and specialized imaging procedures utilizing ionizing radiation in accordance with professional and departmental standards. The CT Tech produces high-quality computerized tomography images used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. We are a supportive team looking for a dedicated individual who shares our commitment to meaningful patient care.
What you will do in this role:
- Assist and position patients on the CT table with compassion.
- Start IVs for contrast injections as necessary.
- Assess image quality and make adjustments when needed.
- Provide patients with post-procedure instructions.
- Prepare and clean the room using aseptic techniques between patients.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate from an accredited program recognized by relevant accrediting agencies.
- American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) certification or registry eligible, with completion of examination within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of Advanced CT Registry within 6 months of eligibility.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Job Summary and QualificationsOur CT Technologists operate CT equipment, to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue used to diagnose medical conditions. You will prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning the patient to capture optimal images requested by the physician.
You will accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment.
Assist the radiologist in administering medication and contrast agents, performing biopsies and all types of care to patients.
Prepare examination rooms for CT scan and/or invasive procedures.
Monitor inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness.
Requirements:
Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Basic Life Support Certification.
ARRT-CT certification preferred.
CT experience preferred.

Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.
- Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required:
- Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Qualifications:- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Associates Degree, preferred
- Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or Graduate of ARRT-approved or NMTCB-recognized Nuclear Medicine Program, required.
- Experience: One year experience in CT scanning, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:

- NH Medical Group Office-Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) or RT(N)(CT) or CNMT, RT(CT); required.
- IV Credentialed, required.
- Applicable state license, required.
- Additional Skills Required: Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates CT equipment.
