New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degree in technology and health related degree programs, other career-oriented degrees and liberal arts transfer degrees in its Schools of Arts and Sciences, Technology and Design, and Professional Studies. City Tech invites applications for a College Laboratory Technician within the Computer Systems Technology Department to begin during the academic year.
The Department of Computer Systems Technology offers three degrees: (a) an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Information Systems, (b) a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Systems and (c) a Bachelor in Science (BS) in Data Science.
The AAS program prepares students for entry-level careers in computer programming, database programming, web programming, and systems/network administration and support; the BTech program allows students to further specialize in software development, networking and security, database management, or internet computing. The modular nature of the BTech curriculum allows students to gain a broad overview of IT applications and to specialize in areas of particular interest; the BS in Data Science program is a synthesis of applied mathematics, high-performance computing, data management and analysis. Data Science is a rapidly developing field with multiple career opportunities in commercial companies, public sector, NGOs, research groups.
Reporting to the Chair of the Computer Systems Technology Department, the duties of the College Laboratory Technician will include, but not be limited to:
+ Networking, server support, and troubleshooting to assist classroom, laboratory, and departmental activities.
+ Conversion and migration of computers and servers, network design, web design, virtualization, and cloud.
+ Administer Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) utilizing various operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, Windows 7-11 and others)
+ Programming and database support, and system database management.
+ Determining departmental equipment requirements, preparing purchase specifications and coordinating acquisitions.
+ Preparation and reconciliation of purchase requisitions in the CUNYfirst procurement system.
+ Where appropriate, training and supervising adjunct college laboratory technicians and other laboratory staff.
+ Related duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
The candidate shall have knowledge and skills related to the discipline and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field is strongly preferred.
+ Previous experience as a laboratory technician in a college or professional setting.
+ Experience with conversion and migration of computers and servers; network design; web design; virtualization; and cloud computing.
+ Familiarity with VDI as well as additional operating systems, including but not limited to: Linux, Windows Server, Windows, etc.
+ Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Strength in collaborating within a team of faculty and staff, up to and including the executive leadership level.
**COMPENSATION**
$57,524 - $66,070. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
**CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.**

The Enrollment Management Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting strategic operations and optimization of the Enrollment Management (EM) Division’s systems tools, including Technolutions Slate. This individual will be a member of the EM Systems team and will provide support in day-to-day maintenance of the undergraduate Slate instance, enhancing and expanding the use of tools for admissions and recruitment efforts. The primary responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • General Slate Maintenance: Assist in the creation and refining of existing rules, forms, automation, and associated queries; play a role in the updating of assets for annual Cycle Prep. Manage existing processes for ongoing record maintenance.

  • Portal Development: Assist in the development, maintenance and updating of custom Slate portals that provide a seamless user experience for both internal users, prospective students, and external stakeholders (e.g. parents/guardians/families).

The Senior Business Systems Analyst analyzes business and information needs in order to design optimal systems solutions. Working under minimal supervision, this job designs system solutions that are appropriate for business needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. This job also recommends improvements to the existing IT systems and processes.

**Job Summary:**
Our team is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the Enterprise Functions Technology team supporting Liquidity Risk management projects and BAU work efforts. The successful candidate must be able to deliver while managing multiple project timelines and risks.
**Responsibilities:**

**Qualifications:**

+ Strong capability of working both collaboratively and independently to meet tight filing deadlines, and flexibility in handling moving targets.
