Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Sev1Tech is seeking a Software Configuration Manager to support the Rapid Response and Integration (R2I) project with expertise in Configuration Management for large programs.

This position is located at NIWC's PAC, Point Loma CA with a 4 day on-site requirement.

The SOftware Configuration Manager will be the Teams CM. This person will accomplish the following action items on an Agile team:

  • Interface with developers to perform CM-related activities in support of a CI/CD pipeline, including the resolution of build issues
  • Document, Manage and execute CM-related tasks for projects operating under the DevSecOps methodology; participate in sprint planning and related activities
  • Assist DevSecOps Engineers with the automation of CM-related tasks
  • Manage deliveries across multiple environments (pre-production to production), including the promotion of code as it pertains to CM
  • Create, manage, and report on CM-related activities, including system configurations/audits (source code versions for COTS, GOTS, and customized modules);
  • Perform, identify, and track differences across multiple environments
  • Publish and enforce configuration management policies (including workflows)
  • Work with or Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and Configuration Review Boards (CRBs)
  • Document pipeline configurations
  • Maintain CM for CI/CD tools/platforms
  • Maintain CM related documentation such as the Configuration Management Plan (CMP)
  • Salary Range: $130-150K
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of demonstrated federal or commercial CI/CD experience.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated federal or commercial consulting experience, to include leadership roles within agile teams.
  • Experience generating CM related documents, process diagrams and artifacts related to software delivery.
  • Experience directly interfacing with developers to perform CM-related activities in support of a CI/CD pipeline, including the resolution of build issues.
  • Experience documenting deliveries across multiple environments (pre-production to production), including the promotion of code.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum and/or Agile SAFe environment
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and the associated teams.
  • Experience creating, managing, and reporting on CM-related activities, including system configurations/audits (source code versions for COTS, GOTS, and customized modules).
  • Experience performing, identifying, and tracking differences across multiple environments.
  • Experience working with (and possibly serving on) Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).

Clearance: Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance at time of application

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Configuration Analyst to join our team supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program. As a Software Configuration Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of software configurations for the THAAD system, a cutting-edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and maintain the software configuration management environment to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
- Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software products are documented, packaged correctly, comply with hardware configuration requirements, and ready for distribution to internal and external users.
- Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to sustain and improve the SCM environment.
- Develops SCM configuration procedures and policies for component-wide use.
- Coordinate SCM requirements with customer, subcontractors and other THAAD organizations.
- Maintain the SCM system including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing metrics, and software build documents.
- Devise, define, and Implement long term SCM process improvement activities.
- Perform build manager functions using SCM tools.
- Administer component software code management databases (migrating from Apex/ClearCase to GitLab, Nexus and Subversion) and change management databases (migrating from ClearQuest to Jira).
- Train users in use of SCM tools.
- Oversee operation and sustainment of Component Software Development Library (SDL).
- Track and release deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.
- Administer Software Configuration Control Boards, including scheduling, agendas and minutes.
- Ensure customer requirements are implemented and review change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
- Ensure data and media have all appropriate markings for retention and distribution.
- Coordinate shipments of software work products with Data Management and program software development library.
- Produce and disseminate SCM data and software documentation based on contract deliverable requirements.
- Comply with security regulations regarding handling and retention of classified program data.
- Conduct SCM audits.
- Ensure deliverable content meets program contractual requirements.

A Software Configuration Management Specialist opportunity for the Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office. The job entails data management, configuration identification and control, standards and procedures development, release management, configuration status accounting, configuration auditing, and CM training/advocacy.
