The Last Mile team helps get packages from delivery stations to a customer's doorstep. Our tech team is here to provide new innovations for customers; for example, we are building a globally connected fleet of smart delivery vehicles, both traditionally gasoline powered and future electrical powered vehicles.
Our team consists of technologists who are combining vehicle IoT technologies (sensors, embedded devices, wearables, and robotics), real-time data streams (video, vehicle telematics, location, and presence), together with machine learning models and algorithms - to create solutions that allow us to deliver faster and better.
Key job responsibilities
Playing a key role in the Connected Vehicle team, we are looking for Software Development Engineer for developing solutions to access and utilizing existing array of sensors within our current fleet of delivery vehicles; and help us design the future fleet of delivery vehicles for the next decades to come.
You will fully understand the integration from edge computing systems to cloud data analytic platform and tools. You will have understanding of user applications with UX optimization, data processing pipeline with connected devices, and data analytic tooling with big-data. You will bring experience of developing similar applications at scale, preferably in consumer or industrial verticals.
This role requires autonomy and an ability to deliver results, often within the ambiguity of building a v1 product. You will need to work efficiently to build the right things with limited guidance, raising the bar to create an amazing experience for our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience in embedded development in C/C+Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing.
- 5+ years' experience with LiDAR and camera sensor data.
- Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or similar languages.

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Textron's compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. This position is responsible for representing altafiber's brand equity in a retail setting with a high level of quality service that exceeds our customer's expectations, excels in needs assessment, connected home solutions, consultative selling, and has a thorough understanding of the products and services offered in the store as well as the systems and processes that support them. The Connected Solutions Consultant is the personal representative of altafiber to every customer who comes into the store. This position carries the responsibility of presenting a positive, friendly, professional and knowledgeable image to the altafiber customer.
**Essential Functions**
+ Provide high quality service to all altafiber customers and potential customers that enter or call the store
+ Utilize outbound dialing with a focus on customer acquisition and up sell while utilizing connected home products and services
+ Assess the customer's needs and provide optimal communication & smart home solutions as well as applications from our product and service line that meets their needs within identified constraints such as budget and availability
+ Provide helpful, professional, and courteous assistance on altafiber related services that fall beyond the scope of the services offered at the store
+ Take ownership of thoroughly understanding the features and benefits of all services and products offered, including bundles and new products and services offered
+ Take ownership in knowing connected home devices and solutions offered in
+ Take ownership for knowing about and understanding our promotional offers
+ Take ownership for understanding the systems that support our products and services
+ Thoroughly understand all aspects of the store POS system, including sales order entry, returns, exchanges, cash management reports, inventory management, in store technology, in store devices, accessory setup and reports and other applications as they may be developed
+ Demonstrate an outstanding understanding and application of all store operating procedures
+ Demonstrate superior team skills that lead and support other team members in our mission to serve the customer and operate a highly professional store operation
+ Attain sales and service goals as defined by store manager and customer feedback
+ Provide consistent documented customer sales and follow up
+ Successfully demonstrate a superior application of all training provided
**Experience**
+ 1 to 2 years relevant telecommunications, retail sales, and customer service experience desired
**Education**
+ Two years of College/Technical School resulting in an Associate's Degree or equivalent
+ Relevant education and training courses desired
