WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Natural Resources Technical Leader** for our Earth & Environment Business in the Plains District (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, North & South Dakota, and Minnesota). This position would be based in our **South Plains Kansas City, MO** office. Other locations will be considered: **Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Nebraska.**
The candidate will play a leadership role in the South Plains, working closely with the Plains Leadership Team and other Senior Technical Leaders with a focus on growing our Natural Resources and Permitting (NRP) capabilities and offerings in support of our efforts to strengthen and expand our existing Earth & Environment practice within the Plains District and beyond. In Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Nebraska our strategy is focused on the oil and gas industry, energy industry, municipalities, industrial development, state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), and many others. The candidate would work with other service leaders on the team to expand current natural resource service offerings in South Plains and diversify our client base. Current natural resources services within South Plains include natural and cultural resources permitting and regulatory compliance (CWA Section 404, NHPA section 106 and beyond), protected species surveys and consultation (ESA sections 7 and 10 and state authorizations), planning and NEPA, and SWPPP compliance. The selected candidate would also leverage cross collaboration with other WSP business lines such as Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I), Property and Buildings (P&B), Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and PMCM to bring value to our clients.

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field.
+ 12+ years of Environmental Science experience in a corporate environment.
+ Strong working knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
+ Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
+ Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
+ Advanced proficiency with office automation and communication software, technology, and tools used in the corporate environment.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree is preferred.
+ Essential professional licensure/certification.
+ Experience in managing the review of documents and preparation of discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.
