Description
Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a statewide provider of skilled trade services. We are seeking a Commercial Construction Driver (Class A) responsible for operating commercial vehicles and heavy-duty trucks to transport materials, equipment, and construction supplies to regional locations. During non-driving or standby hours, this position will also assist with warehouse and yard operations as needed. The shift is Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, box trucks, and/or service body vehicles
- Hook up and tow trailers as needed using a heavy-duty vehicle
- Load and unload cargo following proper tie-down protocols
- Track and document driving activity in logbooks
- Communicate delivery expectations and updates with dispatch and management
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Assist with warehouse and yard duties when not hauling freight
- Perform additional warehouse or yard tasks as needed
- Class A commercial driver's license accepted by the FMCSA
- Minimum of two years of commercial driving experience within a construction environment
- Ability to perform physical work, lifting or pulling up to 50lb continuously during the work shift
- Pass a D.O.T pre-employment drug test
- Valid D.O.T medical form

What you need:

This position reports to Yonkers, NY daily (residency within 25miles) and needs to be flexible for 2 shifts 5am to 1:30 pm and 9am to 5:30pm-overtime available .
Purpose: The Construction Warehouse Worker/ Driver is responsible for following direction to assist in all activities within a construction warehouse from maintaining equipment and inventory to handling project requests and deliveries.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Drive company trucks, vans and forklifts 22' and 18" automatic flatbed-NON CDL
- Make material and equipment deliveries to job sites and help with loading of the roofs.
- Loading trucks and properly strapping them for delivery.
- Unloading materials and equipment and into stock properly and safely.
- Maintain warehouse appearance: clear isles walkways and ensure material is properly organized.
- Aide with flagging as needed.
- Organize warehouse supply inventory, equipment, and delivery.
- Receive and store materials in proper locations.
- Accurately monitor and assess inventory levels, adjusting storage areas where applicable.
- Clean office
- Deliver project material and equipment.
- Check equipment is working properly.
- Follow safety procedures to eliminate safety risks and injuries and enforce standards.
- Receives, organizes, and maintains all construction documents, equipment, and materials.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and establish a productive working relationship with co-workers.
- Must be responsible for clocking in and out/recording time accurately and consistently on all days worked.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in construction industry or working in a warehouse environment
- Practiced in driving truck with up to 24' Beds automatic. Non-CDL.
- Valid Driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Willing to be trained and operate a forklift in accordance to company policy

- Measures distances from grade stakes, drive stakes and stretch tight lines.
- Bolts, nails and aligns and blocks up under forms.
- Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
- Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel.
- Mixes concrete, using float, trowel and screed.
- Positions, joins and aligns and seals pipe sections.
- Erects scaffolding, shoring and braces.
- Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, or paint through hose to clean, coat or seal crevices.
- Grinds, sands, or polishes surfaces, such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring using abrading tools or machines.
- Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulating materials.
- Work is usually performed with other workers.
Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task.
Obeys and follows all safety rules on the job site and encourages others to do the same.
Maintains a good relationship with co-workers and works well with others to accomplish a task.
Physical demands of this position include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally; 40-50 pounds frequently along with frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling.
