Commercial Construction Superintendent - Law Firms
Job Description:
A Superintendent directs the work flow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule and HITT safety and quality standards. The Superintendent provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a mid-level leader. The Superintendent communicates project priorities to site staff and all subcontractors, serving as the primary leader on site for the construction project.
Responsibilities
- Understanding and administering the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors, ensuring that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assisting in safety inspections by outside agencies
- Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project
- Serve as the leader for all on site safety, managing a safe jobsite for all involved
- Maintain daily log of all activities and site conditions, while managing the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
- Work with the project manager in formulating project schedule, ensuring that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, making and following through with schedule commitments, and maintaining HITT quality standards
- Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, developing relationships within the community which enhance business opportunities, and ensuring subcontractors are treated fairly
- Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understanding subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identifying problems early and act immediately to provide solutions
- Develop and organize the site team, arranging for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identifying long lead items that need to be expedited
- Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project
- A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
- 5+ years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
- Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plus
- Mastery of building processes and best practices
- Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
- Project lead experience preferred Previous experience in a superintendent or project lead experience preferred
- Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam,
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriate business writing and verbal skills
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and passion for construction and our industry

Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Representative to join a Park Service (NPS) project to support a Park Service project at Gateway Recreation Area – Jacob Riis Park Unit in Queens, NY. This project includes upgrading the entrance collection system, demolishing an existing building, and making improvements to the parking lot and beach access routes. Work involves concrete repairs, pavement striping, signage, installation of traffic barriers and gates, lighting and fencing replacement, ABA accessibility improvements, and coordination with a future automated system installation. The selected candidate will provide construction oversight, quality assurance, and technical support, while ensuring protection of natural and cultural resources and minimizing disruptions to ongoing park operations. Coordination with park staff and the construction contractor is essential for successful project delivery.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
- Read, interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specifications.
- Arrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project site.
- Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
- Review contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance.
- Understand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mock-up inspections.

- Deliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to CO.
- Review, analyze, and assist in preparing cost estimates.
- Review and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow up.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management or other related field .
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant construction and/or engineering work experience demonstrating knowledge and experience in construction management.
- Minimum of three years of experience in concrete and utility construction inspection is required. Candidates with education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field—whether through a degree or equivalent practical experience—will be given strong consideration
- Proven experience inspecting and managing site work involving concrete repairs, utility upgrades, pavement striping, traffic control devices, and demolition activities in active public or park environments.
- Experience working on federally funded projects or within historic and environmentally sensitive sites strongly
- Relevant experience on projects involving similar scope of work .
- OSHA 30 construction safety training .
- Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specifications.
- Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong computer and technology literacy to utilize PCs and mobile devices.
- Knowledge of software including MS Suite (including MS Project), Adobe Acrobat, and any other software programs typically utilized.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.

The Construction Management Intern works closely with field engineers and project management staff to make sure that projects are progressing on time and on budget.

Overview :Loureiro Building Construction LLC. is seeking a Construction Management Intern to join our team in Portsmouth, NH. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting all phases of diverse construction projects, including scheduling, submittals, quality control, project safety, cost control, and overall project delivery according to established plans and specifications.
This is a paid internship.
This opportunity is ideal for students who are interested in gaining practical experience in construction management and project delivery while working alongside experienced construction professionals.
Responsibilities :- Assist Estimators, Project Managers, and Field Superintendents throughout all project phases.
- Perform quantity take-offs and solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support scheduling, submittals, and coordination of subcontractor contracts and purchase orders.
- Prepare project-specific health and safety documents.
- Assist in the coordination of self-performed work.
- Attend job meetings and participate in project discussions.
- Help prepare reports, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Create, set up, and maintain project filing systems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
