POSITION – Part-Time Construction Professional remote and occasional day travel to Albany, NY.
LOCATION – The position will require flexibility to work on a remote basis with occasional travel to Albany, NY.  
SCOPE – Primarily perform duties of a diverse nature requiring independent analysis, exercise of judgment in task execution, and detailed knowledge of procedures related to the work performed. Work may consist of a variety of duties in support of construction management operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have prior Construction Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working with Buildings.
  • Must be qualified to stamp construction drawings.
  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or Licensed Architect.
  • OSHA 30.
  • Willingness to work primarily in a remote capacity Part-Time (approx.10-15 hours/week).
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to Albany as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, and MS Teams.

PAY RATE: $70.00/Hourly Salary

This role will be filled at either the AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter or VP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
As an AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter, (AVP, Level IV or VP Level V) you will handle complex new and renewal domestic Construction Professional Liability accounts and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the team. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with Select Brokers focused in the US.
There will be approximately 25% travel for this position.
In this role you will be responsible for:
+ Working under minimal direction, underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments.
+ Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in products and industry.
+ Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals.
+ Work at the highest authority limits on assignments utilizing the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination. Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions.
+ Support the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
+ Contribute to the development of propositions. Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level underwriters.

Basic Qualifications, AVP Level:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.OR

As an AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter, (AVP, Level IV or VP Level V) you will handle complex new and renewal domestic Construction Professional Liability accounts and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the team. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with Select Brokers focused in the US.
There will be approximately 25% travel for this position.
In this role you will be responsible for:
+ Working under minimal direction, underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments.
+ Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in products and industry.
+ Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals.
+ Work at the highest authority limits on assignments utilizing the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination. Zurich North America is hiring an AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter, (AVP Level IV or VP Level V) to join our Specialties Construction team. We are open to hiring talent at any Zurich office location. We may, at the sole discretion of the Hiring Manager, be open to hiring remote talent
This role will be filled at either the AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter or VP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
As an AVP, Construction Professional Liability Underwriter, (AVP, Level IV or VP Level V) you will handle complex new and renewal domestic Construction Professional Liability accounts and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the team. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with Select Brokers focused in the US.
There will be approximately 25% travel for this position.
In this role you will be responsible for:
+ Working under minimal direction, underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments.
+ Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in products and industry.
+ Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals.
+ Work at the highest authority limits on assignments utilizing the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination. Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions.
+ Support the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
+ Contribute to the development of propositions. Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level underwriters.
+ Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
Basic Qualifications, AVP Level:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.OR
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaOR
+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaOR
+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaAND
+ Experience with Microsoft Office
OR
Basic Qualifications, VP Level:
+ Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.OR
+ Bachelors Degree and 18 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaAND
+ Experience in a specialized insurance line of business or segment (Construction Professional Lines)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ CPCU or CRIS
+ Advanced knowledge of Construction Professional Liability product lines, the commercial insurance and Construction/Engineering industry
+ Strong Broker relationships
+ Excellent communication skills

We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education.The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled.The combined salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $80,000.00.The proposed salary range for the AVP Level is 130,000.00 - 215,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.The proposed salary range for the VP Level is 175,000.00 - 280,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
