We are currently seeking a full-time Skilled Trades Worker to be a part of the day to day maintenance activities of our unique environment. Experience in construction trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, repair technician, which includes equipment maintenance (commercial food grade equipment), and minor construction.

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

• HEALTH INSURANCE - Regular full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our Medical, Dental and Vision plans the first of the month following 60-days of employment in full-time status. We also offer various supplemental insurance programs to meet your specific needs.
• PAID TIME OFF (PTO) - Full-time non-exempt employees begin accruing PTO at a rate of one week for the first year of employment, which can be used after 90 days of employment (.01925 hours per regular hour worked). The accrual rate increases to two weeks after two years of employment (.0385 hours per regular hour worked).

Summary

This position constructs, repairs, and maintains structures such as furniture, equipment, doors, locks, partitions, and other parts of the Medical Center buildings and grounds using hand and power tools according to written and oral instructions. Patch and Paint repairs along with minor flooring, carpet and tile repair.
Responsibilities

(20%)* Repairs partitions, doors, windows, floors, furniture, and building framework including brick and plastering. May do major architectural renovations and remodeling under direction of maintenance supervisor or project coordinator.

(20%)* Repairs and installs doors, door hardware, and locking devices.

(20%)* Reads blue prints or specifications to determine procedure of constructing cabinets, furniture, partitions and other articles. Measures and marks in prescribed dimensions.

(20%)* Installs floor boards and coverings as well as wall coverings.

(20%)* Estimates quantities of materials needed (lumber, hardware, etc.) and prepares requisitions.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains records and performs other duties as required. May perform work other than carpentry and woodworking in maintenance and construction.

Instructs and helps less experienced maintenance personnel. Lends and is a helper to other maintenance skills as required and/or directed.

Performs other duties as required including but not limited to snow/ice removal and grounds maintenance.

Knowledge of finish carpentry, cabinetmaker, and drop ceilings preferred.

Primary Essential Function

Makes electrical repairs to all building fixtures, main power distribution, test cells and mach i ne tools.

Responsibilities

• Works with minimum supervision.

• Interprets and works from blueprints, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings , State and Municipal codes.

• Computes wire size requirements when necessary. Assists in machinery and facility schematic layout(s ).

• Performs related mechanical operations necessary to the dismantling or build i ng of electrical and electronic units.

• Does repair and installation work on large cables, such as splicing, tapping and insulating high voltage wire.

• Assists in machine installation and other machine repair activates when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform journeyman level work in the installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul, service and repair of all types of heating, ventilating and air conditioning and related systems and equipment. Install, maintain, adjust, modify and perform major overhaul and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems by interpreting blueprints, manufacturer specifications, written and verbal instructions. Make initial settings and final adjustments of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and modifying existing installations to obtain required results. Install, troubleshoot, repair or calibrate, and maintain air handling and all related equipment dealing with heating and cooling. Check and adjust complete HVAC systems after installation. Thorough working knowledge of high- and low-pressure boilers. Charge all types of refrigeration equipment. Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance; make recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems. Provide technical guidance and direction to other maintenance personnel. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein including coverage for Boiler Tender. Perform related duties as required to accomplish tasks.
