Job Summary

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Lead Specialist (BC/DR Specialist) is responsible for leading the development, testing and implementation of a business continuity plan to ensure resiliency of TRS operations in the event of accidents, disasters, emergencies or threats that disrupt normal System operations.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the Systems business continuity program to facilitate the Systems response to business interruptions and incident responses.
  • Maintain a test schedule to ensure the regular testing of all TRS Business Continuity Plan components.
  • Collaborate with all TRS departments to identify key business operations, maintain current Business Impact Analysis (BIA) documents.
  • Develop and provide training and presentations on business continuity plan awareness, policies and procedures.
  • Plan, prepare and lead tabletop exercises that test the plans and procedures in place for a variety of disaster simulations.
  • Assist the Information Technology team with disaster recovery objectives.
  • Identify enterprise-wide Business Process Workflows and develop contingency plans.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Cyber Security.
  • 5 years experience in IT Infrastructure or similar role.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • 1 year project management experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • Experience in use of project management tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

The Role

We're seeking a highly organized and analytical professional to take the lead on risk assessment and recovery planning in this newly created role. As our Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Specialist, you'll be responsible for identifying organizational vulnerabilities and critical business functions, developing strategies to prevent or minimize impact, and ensuring we're prepared to respond to any disruption with confidence and agility. *Must Live in Minnesota*

What You'll Do:
  • Conducts risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerable areas within the company's critical functions.
  • Recommends and implements disaster avoidance strategies and impact reduction strategies.
  • Gathers and interprets data for use in risk assessments or business impact analyses.
  • Develops and establishes disaster recovery procedures for the restoration of mission-critical business applications in the event of natural disasters, technical failures, power outages, and human interference.
  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of actual recovery plan implementation and efforts, including initial emergency response, recovery procedures, and business resumption processes.
  • Informs, educates and trains internal business team members on their responsibilities concerning business continuity procedures and emergency response, and maintains proper interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Works with and assists technical and compliance teams with development and maintenance of business continuity plans to keep vital business processes and functions operational in the event of natural disasters, technical failures, power outages, and human interference.
  • Facilitates annual tabletop stress tests for established vital process business continuity plans and assists technical team owners with remediating any identified gaps.
  • Ensure that company equipment, systems, services, and facilities are compliant with disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Participates in internal and external IT audits and assessments and contributes to the development and testing of corporate and division disaster recovery plans.
  • Continually conduct simulations and test runs of system disruptions to revise and perfect plans.
  • Investigates and selects locations for off-site storage of data and backups.
  • Adheres to high levels of confidentiality.
  • Attends professional meetings, reads literature, and participates in training or other educational offerings to keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Serves as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for new and existing BC planning and recovery objectives.
  • Facilitates meetings with key stakeholders to assess strengths and weaknesses in the program and ensure adequate resources are allocated to the most critical functions needing attention.
  • Presents the current state of recovery capabilities to leadership and stakeholders and seeks their approval as well as acceptance of feedback and required changes.

The base pay posted is just one component of SFM's total compensation package. The salary range listed represents the full compensation range for this position. Work Environment and Physical Demands

Regular attendance is required. Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. Seeking a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Manager for a growing, well established organization!

The Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for the hands on management of the Business Resiliency program. This position requires a proven subject matter expert with demonstrated competency in the planning, development, program execution, maintenance and testing of Enterprise Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis/Incident Management programs.

Additional responsibilities include risk, controls and compliance management, supporting BC/DR audit and examination activities, and development & maintenance of policies, standards & procedures that are aligned with the best practices (NIST, FFIEC BCP handbook). Familiarity with fundamental IT concepts, infrastructure & data center technologies is required. This position will require communication and coordination across the organization the Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Manager must demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Requirements

Role and Responsibilities for the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager.

Management (25%)

Perform all departmental administrative activities, including staff meetings, attendance, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, expense processing, documentation, and other activities, as assigned, in a timely manner.

Business Continuity Planning (25%)

Overall - ensure that plans are properly rated for all business process areas, contain all required sections, and reflect current conditions. Ensure that plans and strategies are appropriate, cohesive and viable, and could be used to recover key functions within required time frames.

Conduct BIA for assigned Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Shared Service Units (SSUs).

Train Senior Business Continuity Analyst in the correct implementation of BC & DR processes, standards and impart training to ensure recoverability of business processes and supporting services across SBUs and SSUs.

Support review and maintenance of business continuity policy, standards and processes.

Support internal reporting and tracking of business continuity related issues and remediation activities.

Support assigned oversight areas with the creation, maintenance and testing of their various business continuity plans.

Support the identification of Business Continuity related risks (internal / external), the assessment of their likelihood, as well as potential impacts and risk mitigation plans.

Proactively identify and implement BCP program and process improvements.

Develop recovery priorities, time lines, and strategy for proper sequence of recovery components.

Educate and train IT members in practices of technology risk disaster recovery planning.

Review existing and proposed plans for recoverability effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Provide guidance to management in self-assessing their control environment.

Assist Crisis Management / Incident Management teams during service disruption events, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Develop, review and maintain third party contracts for hardware and telecom services for Disaster Recovery hardware equipment and location resources.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.

Minimum of 8 years of hands on Business Continuity and/or IT Disaster Recovery experience, with at least 4 years in a management role.

Relevant Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk or Audit certifications preferred. (One or more certifications MBCP, CBCP, ABCP, CRISC, CISA).

Experience in 4 or more of the following BCP framework components:

Crisis Management Planning,

This position is for a full-time Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Engineer with 4+ years of professional experience. Rush is seeking a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance our IT resilience capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring critical systems and infrastructure can withstand and recover from disruptions efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in backup technologies, IT disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation, along with strong technical expertise in hybrid cloud environments. **Responsibilities:**
+ Primary owner of Rush's backup solution.
+ Ensure backups complete on time and address any failures that may occur.
+ Capture and track performance metrics related to Rush's backup environment.
+ Work in conjunction with Rush's Cybersecurity team to create, update, and test disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business continuity requirements.
+ Conduct infrastructure dependency mapping to identify vulnerabilities.
+ Participate in planned disaster recovery drills, document findings, and work with D&IS teams to address gaps.
+ Assist in disaster recovery activations, coordinating technical recovery efforts, and post-incident reviews.
+ Work closely with cloud and on-premises infrastructure teams to implement high availability, backup, and recovery strategies.
+ Ensure DR plans comply with industry regulations, security policies, and best practices while maintaining up-to-date documentation.
+ Leverage automation and scripting to improve backup, failover, and recovery processes.
+ Partner with cybersecurity, application, and network teams to integrate DR capabilities into broader IT resilience strategies.
+ Validate application tiering expectations align with IT capabilities.
Requirements
+ Bachelors Degree and 4+ years of experience in managing a large enterprise backup environment or High School diploma/GED and 8 years' experience.
+ Proficient in disaster recovery, business continuity, or infrastructure resilience concepts.
+ Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization, storage, and networking.
+ Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or Cohesity).
+ Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible).
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
+ Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio, Draw.io, or similar technology.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
