The Drafting Technician will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation using Autodesk Revit and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools. This role supports the engineering and design teams in developing precise, coordinated, and code-compliant project documentation for security, fire, audiovisual, and other building systems.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Revit modeling, BIM coordination, and drafting standards, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Develop and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D Revit models for all project phases (concept, design, construction, and as-built).
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure drawings reflect current design intent and technical requirements.
- Implement and maintain BIM standards, templates, and workflows in accordance with company and client specifications.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings to identify and resolve design conflicts with other disciplines.
- Incorporate redlines, markups, and revisions into drawings promptly and accurately.
- Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation in compliance with company standards.
- Produce detailed shop drawings, submittal packages, and as-built documentation for project turnover.

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in drafting/design using Autodesk Revit in a professional environment.

Position Description
The overall duties of a Drafting Coordinator Include:
- Coordinate all design and drafting functions for assigned projects
- Track assigned jobs and coordinate schedules with Drafting Manager, Plant Scheduler, and Project Manager
- Act as the primary liaison between the customer and internal Metromont departments to resolve issues concerning drawings, repair details, material requisitions, etc.
- Assist in the analysis of problem areas and recommended solutions

The Drafting Technician is responsible for creating and modifying a variety of accurate CAD drawings and models as requested by Blades Engineers and/or the Blades Engineering Manager and requires an individual who is a self-starter, eager and willing to learn and develop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The position is responsible for generating accurate CAD models and drawings, including revisions to existing and creating new, based on Engineers' request.
- This position is responsible for troubleshooting basic problems with production fixtures, testing equipment, and finished products. This position works on the manufacturing floor with department supervision and operators to resolve problems as they arise.
- Works on general projects to reduce cost of manufacturing, improve the quality and function of the product, and productivity improvements.
- Measure parts and verify them to print. This position will use micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other measuring equipment as needed, both at the CAD station and on the manufacturing floor. This position is responsible for keeping accurate documentation and reporting of corrective actions as requested.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Create and modify accurate CAD models and drawings using Unigraphics NX
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical problems with fixtures, testing equipment, and finished products
- Finishes prototype components and products.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree in a technical or engineering discipline (BS preferred but not required)

- Must be proficient in the operation of 3-D CAD systems (preferably Unigraphics NX)
- 3 – 5 years technical engineering experience
- Problem solving and analytical abilities (mechanical inclination is highly preferred)
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Work in office engineering environment with occasional activities in the manufacturing environment and may be exposed to some dust and noise
