# Project Overview:
Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower's Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funds to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. TerraPower, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWE sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium. The Natrium Demonstration plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, easier and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also features an innovative molten salt storage output, combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWE. The Natrium Demonstration plant will be licenced by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for control systems matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard control systems engineering techniques will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team. This position is performed under the leadership of a Control Systems Engineering supervisor, lead or designee.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria
+ Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
+ Specifies instrumentation and control valves for various plant systems
+ Generates instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions
+ Performs technical bid evaluations
+ Reviews supplier-provided data and documentation
+ Generates and applies Instrument Installation Details (IIDs)
+ Prepares and reviews control cabinet/panel layouts
+ Prepares instrument location drawings (from 3D model)
+ Designs and reviews Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for various plant systems
+ Prepares and reviews control narratives
+ Prepares and reviews control logic diagrams
+ Works within various Control Systems databases (e.g., Instrument Index, I/O list, etc.)
# Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering field from an accredited university and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

**What You Will Do:**
+ Analyze and address sophisticated automation equipment challenges to provide effective control system solutions to an assortment of new and existing automated process equipment while focusing on growing equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and other devices and programs.
+ Understand, maintain and address material handling control systems, including PLC controllers and industrial networks such as motor control systems, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
+ Partner with FC Operations leadership, equipment vendors and parts suppliers to complete root cause analysis, formulate solutions, and coordinate solution implementation. Act as the technical consultant for Automation and Control projects inside the building
+ Observe MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations for system performance issues and provide analysis across all FC's
+ Act as first level issue support for the Facilities Techs/Leads, during and after business hours, solving locally and remotely and repair all hardware or controls software systems within the building
+ Appropriately increase downtime situations to vendors or Automation and Engineering Leadership for support to restore equipment operation.
+ Train and mentor new technicians in operational procedures, including in the use of safety equipment and safety hazards as well as ensuring compliance with safety and organization policies including OSHA standards and 5-S.
**What You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Sciences, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related engineering.
+ Proven record within an industrial controls' environment which includes PLC programming, I/O, communication networks and AC, DC, single / three-phase.
+ Experienced with Rockwell Automation Software, Allen-Bradley RS Logix PLC software.
+ Confirmed understanding with Conveyors, Mechanical Systems and Sorter systems and have a detailed understanding of Process Flow of Fulfillment Centers.
+ Must have knowledge demonstrating electrical knowledge of 24v AC/DC control circuits, digital multimeters and functions and experience with 120v power and control circuits, knowledge of 277v-480v power circuits and ability to wire-up and efficiently operate a 3-phase motor.
+ Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing schematics, along with knowledge in mechanical and architectural drawings.
+ Must be available for 24/7 for emergency situations

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

**Senior Embedded Controls** **Systems** **Engineer**
As part of Keurig Dr Pepper's Product Design & Engineering organization, the Sr. Controls Engineer will work within cross-functional teams to define controls solutions and strategies for our current and next generation Brewer Appliances. In this role, you will develop and modify experimental control algorithms for embedded systems, while also serving as a critical liaison between our controls/hardware development team and our embedded software team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will directly impact the development of new product features and innovations that enhance system product performance and deliver differentiated customer experience.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Design, modify, optimize, and implement Brewer Control Algorithms on embedded software platforms for consumer and commercial products.
+ Develop and maintain design guides and specifications for Control Algorithms, Dev-Tools, Components, and Sub-Systems.
+ Maintain adherence to internal coding standards and software development best practices; Ensure that newly developed algorithms are seamlessly integrated and maintained within the production code base.
+ Work within an Agile development environment; Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross functional integration events.
+ Serve as an interface between the controls/hardware development team and the embedded software team; Provide technical support and mentorship; Collaborate cross-functionally to define system requirements and resolve integration and system performance challenges.

As a Vehicle Control Systems Engineer on the Motorcycle Team, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, and validation of Motorcycle control systems and components from concept to production to meet the needs of multiple vehicle platforms and derivatives.
