Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to join our team. As the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This is a key leadership role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who can effectively manage the financial operations and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of corporate accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Oversee the organization's inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, recording, and reconciliation of stock levels
- Analyze demand patterns, forecast future needs, and implement strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing excess inventory
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations and inventory management
- Collaborate with procurement teams to place and track orders, ensuring timely replenishment of stock
- Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
- Provide guidance and support to the Executive team
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Analyze financial data for budget variances and provide insight to management on what is driving large variances
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Proven experience as a Corporate Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial acumen
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Financial Leadership
- Support the COO and the firm’s Officers with strategic planning and decision-making

The Production Controller will be based onshore in our customer's Operations and Maintenance facility in Norfolk, Virginia working to support the Offshore Operations of the Coastal Virginia Commercial Project (176 x SG14-222 Direct Drive turbines).
Production Controllers work a shift pattern (e.g., 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off) providing 24/7/365 coverage to meet the demanding scheduled and often unscheduled site requirements. The role reports into the Deputy Operations Manager on the site.
The Production Controller monitors and drives technical performance of the Wind Farm, controls access to the Wind Turbine Generators ("WTG"), supports our Global Monitoring team in reactive responses to WTG alarms, and provides remote support to the Offshore workforce working within the Windfarm.
**How You'll Make an Impact**
+ Support delivery of Health, Safety and Environmental targets ensuring compliance with, and continuous improvement of, the business management systems and practices. This role will be responsible for safely completing remote operations offshore.
+ Provide 24/7 Monitoring of all wind farm alarms. Fault Response and Remote Diagnosis on Wind Turbine Generator ("WTG") alarms.
+ Planning and preparation of work packages for emergent troubleshooting. Transmittal of troubleshooting advice/guidance to Offshore Service troubleshooting teams.
+ Remote orientation of WTG to prepare WTG for service access (Service Operation Vessel Approach Processes).
+ Working with Subject Matter Experts within our global organization to help rectify and ensure compliance of WTG/SCADA systems in line with the NERC Requirements framework.
+ Drive technical availability, preparing and auditing monthly performance reports.
**What You Bring**
+ Proven track record in compliance with HS&E policies and procedures. Ability to influence, particularly around safety, to gain commitment to deliver business objectives.
+ High School diploma (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of experience required. Possession of a technical background (engineering, maintenance or operational) combined with demonstrable understanding of commercial operations. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
+ Strong 'team player' mentality, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Develop, manage, and monitor firm-wide project budgets and forecasts; prepare analyses and financial insights for leadership and project stakeholders
- Provide guidance through knowledge of the Company Policies, Procedures, Processes, and Internal Controls for the systems used in the identification, collection, maintenance, and retrieval of data useful for effective decision making
- Translate the finances to non-financial leaders (effective storytelling)
- Champion financial literacy within the organization (ESOP and Project Level)
- Work with the Treasurer to report to the Board on the financial aspects of the company
- Collaborate with Director of People Operations on compensation budgets
Corporate Accounting Duties
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and ensure optimal financial health of the firm
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records by managing all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, revenue recognition, and project accounting
- Prepare financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement to ensure accurate, timely and relevant information is available for management.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and ensure the timely delivery of financial statements
- Work closely with project leaders to track project performance, project budgets, vendor requirements, and profitability
Departmental Leadership
- Maintain, strengthen, and create internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and software, including VantagePoint
- Mentor and manage accounting staff to foster professional development and team efficiency
- Supervises staff including assignments and job performance reviews
- Be a Champion for the accounting team and ensure their work is recognized
- Other duties as assigned
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
- 10+ years of experience in financial leadership, ideally in an architecture or consulting firm
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and professional services accounting
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Meaningful experience in integrating or transitioning to financial and project-based software systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working collaboratively with creative teams while upholding financial best practices
- Experience developing an accounting/finance team

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the organization’s fiscal health. Key Responsibilities:
