As a Conveyor Belt Technician, you will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of conveyor belts and related industrial products.

Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

A day in the life of a Conveyor Belt Technician can look like

  • Processing orders in a safe and efficient manner and operating light industrial equipment.
  • Communicating with supervisor regarding assigned orders, scheduling, and other production issues.
  • Ensuring timely shipping of belting product; receiving shipments in a timely manner and ensuring delivery to correct recipient.
  • Maintaining shipping/receiving department with needed supplies.
  • Processing and maintaining reports.
  • Traveling to various locations to install product. Occasional overnight travel required. (We will pay for gas, meal, and hotel while traveling overnight).
  • Providing on-call assistance as required.
  • Recognizing appropriate inventory usage and report low levels to supervisor, maintaining cycle counts log, and participating in once-a-year inventory.

  • A High School diploma.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility around scheduling - ability to work occasional nights and/or weekend coverage.
  • Previous industrial or production experience.

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyors, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience working with conveyor systems, electrical 3-phase motor controls/PLC, overall material handling experience.
  • Perform repair /inspection, installation of conveyor system, racking, balers, air compressors, carton sealers, etc. and all other building and support areas.
  • Recognize potential malfunctions and proactively repair to mitigate costs.
  • Maintain complete repair order records.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Position is full-time and on-site.


Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Operator will assemble product using a variety of tools, prints, routings, ARI's (additional routing instructions), and/or Engineering/Supervision direction.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive job instruction from supervisor.Observe operator proficiency and re-instruct when necessary.Operate material handling equipment.Maintain accurate counts on materials, parts and supplies, report discrepancies to supervisor.Maintain an adequate supply of parts and material to workstations to ensure uninterrupted flow of work.Report labor and job data accurately.Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.Maintain clean and neat work area.Perform other duties within the department or plant as required by supervision.SKILLS:A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to read and understand routings/work orders, additional routing instructions (ARI's) prints, B.O.M. and safety notifications. Ability to use applicable hand tools (such as torque wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.WORK EXPERIENCE:Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Prior experience as an assembler is preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Typically requires standing, walking, stooping, crouching and kneeling on a regular basis; reaching and handling frequently and climbing, balancing and crawling occasionally. Specific vision requirements include depth perception and color vision.WORKING CONDITIONS:Regularly exposed to noise and chemicals. Typically requires the use of a pallet jack.
