We have an opening for a FT Cook in a surgical hospital in the Lubbock area.
Requirements
Basic job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of foods for patients, cafeteria and caterings
- Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality food production and portion control, using standardized recipes.
- Responsible for appropriate quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements.
- May be required to delivery patient trays to patient rooms
- Cleaning of kitchen area following prep/cooking, including pots, pans, utensils and other items
- Responsible for following standards and methods as outlined in the Policy and Procedures to promote high quality food and prevent food borne illnesses in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
- 1 year experience as a cook
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience in similar position in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
- Must present in a professional manner

Summary: Prepare food in accordance with club recipes and standards.
Essential Functions
- Follows schedule posted and shows up to work on time
- Prepares all required items
- Sets up service units with needed items
- Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
- Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages
- Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
- Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen
- Maintains neat professional appearance and always observes personal cleanliness rules
