+ Develop and deliver proactive training to business leaders on a wide variety of employment law matters.
+ Provide legal representation and/or supervise outside counsel regarding employment litigation, government administrative agency charges, audits, and investigations (e.g., EEOC, DOL, OSHA, and state/local agencies) as well as attorney demand letters and claims involving employment-related concerns.
+ Draft and negotiate employment-related documents including separation agreements and restrictive covenant agreements.
+ Partner with and advise HR professionals regarding internal investigations, as well as compensation, ERISA, and immigration matters.
**What You'll Need:**
+ JD from an accredited school with strong academic credentials.
+ Minimum 6 years' experience practicing employment law, in-house and/or with a national or regional law firm.
+ Significant experience in identifying employment law risks and formulating strategies regarding the same, as well as in providing practical, timely, and solution-oriented advice and counseling to business clients at various levels of the organization.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and develop practical solutions that mitigate legal risks and align with business objectives.
+ Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and assume significant responsibility in keeping with the level of experience in employment law.
+ Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. This position requires fast-paced multitasking and the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple issues involving business partners in various locations.
+ Active license to practice law in at least one state and the ability to become licensed as in-house counsel in Florida.

Position Summary:
Corporate Counsel will be part of a fast-paced legal team and have responsibility for contract review and negotiation as well as the implementation of a contract lifecycle management tool. Minimum Education:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
Minimum Experience:
- Admission to Massachusetts, North Carolina, or other state bar.
- Must have 5+ years of relevant experience, including prior in-house experience, and experience implementing a contract lifecycle management tool.
- Strong background in commercial contract review and negotiations.
Soft Skills/Competencies:

Opportunity at a Glance
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and service on a broad variety of subject matters arising from the operation of Title IV participating higher education institutions. S/he has a broad substantive skill-set, plus the interpersonal strengths, resourcefulness and drive to handle directly the wide ranging routine legal needs of the Company's institutions as well as the Company's home office functional departments. The Corporate Counsel will report to the Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel for Higher Education/ Regulatory and Compliance within the General Counsel's Office.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for five Title IV institutions located in the United States and the Caribbean.
- Work collaboratively with appropriate institutional departments to provide legal research, writing, and analytical support, review domestic and international agreements, negotiate clinical affiliation agreements and draft strategic partnerships agreements.
- Provide guidance on student-related issues including student misconduct, academic dishonesty, student records, disability accommodations and academic policy requirements, and pre-litigation matters.
- Review, draft, and respond to student complaints with external agencies and/or from private legal counsel.
- Coordinate and monitor issues involving compliance with FERPA and student privacy protections, including subpoenas for education records.
- Advise on academic research, institutional contracting, regulatory compliance, and other matters related to higher education issues for nursing and medical programs, and veterinary medicine, including for-profit higher education issues.
- Review and draft policies, procedures, principles and practices to support institutional goals, manage risk and provide guidance on periodic updates to same.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop and implement best practices.
- Create and deliver training on substantive legal topics.
Qualifications

Opportunity at a Glance
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and service on a broad variety of subject matters arising from the operation of Title IV participating higher education institutions. S/he has a broad substantive skill-set, plus the interpersonal strengths, resourcefulness and drive to handle directly the wide ranging routine legal needs of the Company's institutions as well as the Company's home office functional departments. The Corporate Counsel will report to the Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel for Higher Education/ Regulatory and Compliance within the General Counsel's Office.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for five Title IV institutions located in the United States and the Caribbean.
- Work collaboratively with appropriate institutional departments to provide legal research, writing, and analytical support, review domestic and international agreements, negotiate clinical affiliation agreements and draft strategic partnerships agreements.
- Provide guidance on student-related issues including student misconduct, academic dishonesty, student records, disability accommodations and academic policy requirements, and pre-litigation matters.
- Review, draft, and respond to student complaints with external agencies and/or from private legal counsel.
- Coordinate and monitor issues involving compliance with FERPA and student privacy protections, including subpoenas for education records.
- Advise on academic research, institutional contracting, regulatory compliance, and other matters related to higher education issues for nursing and medical programs, and veterinary medicine, including for-profit higher education issues.
- Review and draft policies, procedures, principles and practices to support institutional goals, manage risk and provide guidance on periodic updates to same.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop and implement best practices.
- Create and deliver training on substantive legal topics.
Qualifications

- J. D. from an accredited law school required.
- Must be in good standing with the Illinois State bar required.
- 7+ years prior experience as an attorney practicing in a law firm required or corporate in-house legal experience.
- Experience negotiating commercial contracts, particularly information technology and consulting services purchases.
- Litigation experience.
- Experience providing legal counsel to clients on consumer protection laws.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess potential for risk and opportunity.
- Exemplary analytical and interpretation skills; strong legal research, writing, negotiation and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
- Must be able to exercise sound judgment and work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100171.61 and $181034.70. The Legal Department is seeking a transactional attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join a collaborative team. This position presents an exciting opportunity for a transactional attorney with experience in the Financial Services industry. The incumbent will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to sift through complicated legal and business issues and communicate only the important aspects in a clear and concise manner at all levels within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising various business agreements.
- Participate in contract negotiations and interface directly with business teams and corporate leadership at various stages of each project.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise in one or more substantive legal practice areas, such as consumer financial transactions, commercial financial transactions, retail banking, small business banking, corporate banking, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business, people, markets, brands, facilities, customers, and competitors to identify trends, anticipate issues, provide business-oriented solutions, and formulate appropriate long-term strategies.

state and federal courts against Westlake entitles in all 50 US States - Assist in preparing and reviewing pleadings, discovery and motions
- Assist in conducting internal and external investigations of complaints concerning violations of company policies, laws, and regulations
- Effectively acquire, assemble and manage legal documents and files responsive to time-sensitive inquiries.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws relevant to the operation of a financial services company engaged in the purchase of automobile retail installment contracts.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with other members of the Legal team.

About The Role
The Ketch Corporate Counsel will navigate the legal landscape of a rapidly growing SaaS company.
