Security Operations Officer is responsible for providing customer service via telephone interactions with customers and tenants as well as supporting security through radio communications and monitoring of video surveillance systems. This position requires excellent computer skills, the ability to master at least five computer applications, and provide outstanding customer service for each customer interaction. Additional responsibilities of the Security Center Officer position include, but are not limited to, the following:
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone and radio calls
+ Communicate effectively with on-site security personnel to properly resolve incidents
+ Provide pre-arrival emergency or medical instructions to local law enforcement or fire personnel
+ Monitor fire/life/safety alarms to determine the necessary level of response
+ Escalate and coordinate incidents to the site supervisor
+ Maintain the confidentiality of policy and procedure documentation, emergency response and notification information, and administrative and database materials
+ Become proficient with several computer applications to properly log data, verify access, create customer profiles, and issue badges
+ Become conversant with emergency procedures and evacuation procedures for data center
+ Identify suspicious criminal activity and ensure an effective response from local law enforcement, retail center personnel, and/or corporate management
+ Operate and monitor internal and external surveillance cameras and state of the art surveillance programs for data center
+ Ensure all components of the Security Operations Center surveillance equipment are operating according to expected standards and protocols
+ Maintain an effective video management system in accordance with expected standards and protocols. Effectively maneuver multiple surveillance cameras to obtain a better understanding of a situation, document events and assist with an investigation regarding suspicious activity, property damage, acts of violence, etc.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent or minimum of five (5) years of work experience
+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
+ Must possess, or be able to obtain, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 60 days of assignment (training is provided on-site)

What Your Day May Look Like

Job Description :
- Security Officer Covers posts (e.g., customer counter, employee, vehicle entrances, guard houses, gates, construction gates, parking lot, perimeter, etc.)
- Screens employees (in/out) and personal baggage at pedestrian and vehicle entrances
- Verifies seal controls on vehicles at gateway (cut and apply seals)
- Verifies identity badges of personnel for clearance, screen vehicles
- Manages temporary badge process
- Conducts roving patrols, on foot or in vehicle around perimeter fences, gates, buildings, warehouses, storage areas, switchyards etc.
- Identifies fire hazards, unauthorized activity malfunctioning utility, hazardous conditions
- Monitors CCTV
- Operates X-ray machine
- Performs additional duties related to security of premises as required
- May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.
Qualifications :
- Have reliable transportation
- Physically capable of performing the assigned work
- Be able to meet all applicable licensing, registration, and certification requirements in the state in which the officer's assigned facility is located
- Communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
Education & Experience :
- Must be 21 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED

1. Saturday - Wednesday from 2:00pm - 10:00pm (40 hours/week)
2. Thursday - Friday from 2:00pm - 10:00pm & Saturday - Sunday from 3:00pm - 11:00pm (32 hours/week)

Summary:
Reporting to the Post Supervisor, the Security Operations Center Officer is a vital team member providing security services to various clients of GSSC. The Security Operations Center Officer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks per the needs of the client, which include monitoring of multiple sites via access control and camera systems, responding to appropriate authorities when breeches are notified and verified, and thorough documentation of all findings and investigations of incidents. Some additional duties may include interior/exterior tours of the main facility, responding to emergency situations and notifying appropriate response entities, and providing a high level of observation and reporting duties.
Security Operations Center Officer Job Responsibilities:

- Monitors Camera, Access Control, and Alarm systems and provides appropriate response when unusual circumstances and or unusual findings are discovered or are alerted.
- Ensures all Camera, Access Control, and Alarm systems are functioning properly and notifying appropriate personnel if non-functioning equipment is discovered.
- Observes and reports activities and incidents at multiple sites owned and or operated by the client, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
- Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
- Enforces required security regulations and procedures pursuant to Post Orders and or the Facility Security Plan pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
- Responds to client inquiries in an expeditious manner.
- Reacts appropriately, promptly and in accordance with Post Orders in emergency situations.
- Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities.
- Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
- Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
- Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
- Provides excellent customer service

- Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass Identification Verification, State & Federal background checks and drug screen.
- Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
- Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
- Must be able to complete required NERC - CIP Training as required by customer.
- Computer skills must be proficient with camera systems, access control systems, alarm systems, basic Microsoft applications as well i.e. word, excel.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
- Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality
- Valid driver's license and clear driving record
- 1 or more years working in a dispatch / monitoring center type environment.
- 1 or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries
- Military, Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related experience
