POSITION OVERVIEW
Ascend is currently searching for a Buyer to be located in our downtown Houston office. As a member of the Procurement organization, the Buyer will be responsible for executing the day-to-day procurement activities that support Ascend's Corporate Services category. This role will focus on managing the sourcing process, issuing purchase orders, resolving supplier issues, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the procurement process for Corporate Services, including issuing RFQs, comparing supplier quotes, and processing purchase orders.
- Manage supplier communications related to order confirmations, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
- Track and follow up on open orders, deliveries, and contract renewals to ensure timelines are met.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier contact details in the ERP system.
- Assist with contract reviews and support the preparation of standard procurement documents.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate recurring issues to management.
- Collaborate with departments such as HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to gather specifications and fulfill purchasing requests.
