The Therapist, Correctional Facility will provide therapeutic clinical interventions to a special population of adults at the county jail. In addition, this position provides support through appropriate assessments and quality of services within the project. This position reports to the Team Leader, Correctional Facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct service to adult patients assigned to the team through individual counseling, coaching, education, case consultation, and crisis intervention.
- Provides recovery-oriented therapeutic interventions to support the patient with the management of symptoms and daily functioning while patients await state hospital placement for fitness restoration.
- Coordinates treatment with the Team Lead, prescriber and designated Department of Mental Health (DMH), county jail corrections and contracted health care staff and pharmacy.
- Attend weekly care coordination progress meetings with DMH and county jail staff.
- Completes and maintains all required agency and court documentation. Maintains the quality, validity and confidentiality of individual case records. Assures that all assigned documentation is completed accurately, on time and is organized in a systematic manner.
- Provides crisis intervention services as needed for patients.
- Maintain the quality and validity of reports and individual case records. Assists with special tasks as assigned, including but not limited to representing the agency at meetings, participating in weekly supervision with supervisor, and attending all required training for the role.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, forensic psychology or related field required.
EXPERIENCE
- At least one year (1) of adult mental health treatment experience with individuals with serious mental illness required.

- Background working with mental health and substance use adults, flexibility working across levels of the systems and competence incorporating evidence-based treatment modalities into their practice.

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Screener. The Security Screener will work with highly intelligent x-ray software to inspect items, determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation, and alert baggage screeners or handlers to any possible problems.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Inspect items, using x-ray viewing equipment, to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation
+ View images of bags and cargo, using remote screening equipment, and alert baggage screeners or handlers to any possible problems
+ Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel
+ Notify supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur
+ Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel
+ Send items through automated screening machines, and set bags aside for searching or rescreening as indicated by equipment
+ Inspect to identify potential hazards
+ Record information about any baggage that sets off alarms in monitoring equipment

Incumbents in this class supervise, plan, promote, organize, implement, and evaluate a wide range of inmate services including sports, games, handicrafts, educational resources, and video and reading materials at a detention or correctional facility.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices in administering inmate services including recreational, vocational, educational, and library services
- Principles of organization, management, supervision, and training
- Federal and State laws, guidelines, and regulations and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to inmate programs and activities
- Behavioral characteristics of incarcerated populations and how to deal with them

Minimum qualifications: any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the requisite knowledge and abilities would be the following:
Either: one year of full time paid experience performing the duties of Sheriff's Correctional Facility Recreation Specialist in Sacramento County service. Or completion of all major course work from an accredited college or university required for a Bachelor's Degree or higher in recreation specializing in physical, developmental or social disabilities, or recreation for incarcerated populations.
One year of full time paid experience in developing, planning, organizing, publicizing and conducting recreational activities in a correctional facility.
Note: if the word "experience" is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements. Experience above the minimum required may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis. All experience requirements are stated in terms of full-time experience; part-time experience is acceptable and is converted to full-time on the basis of: 173.6 hours = 21.7 days = 1 work month.
Note: if the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application. Failure to submit proof of requirements may result in disqualification from the examination. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
Special requirements: background/criminal history: appointees must pass a criminal history and background check to assure compliance with the California Penal Code.
