Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for overall support of the monthly closing process, analyzing results, and reporting information required by management to effectively operate the North American AAB business while also ensuring that corporate Group requirements are timely and accurately met. This role involves managing the inventory costing process, assisting in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, and interacting with various levels of management.

- Prepare Standard Management Reporting - Data gathering & Preparation:
- Daily/Monthly Production reporting
- Weekly/Monthly KPI reporting
- Ad Hoc analysis to support operations
- P&L cost analysis, checking variances from budget/forecast, bridges
- BUR deck preparation/information and slides gathering and consolidating
- Profitability Model (updating, maintaining, analyzing).
- Planning & Budgeting:
- Preparing models (updating assumptions, rolling model M to M or Y to Y)
- Gathering and consolidating information/input from operations and business
- Analyzing, explaining, bridging, loading both forecast and budget in the HFM.
- Support internal and external auditing process:

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years' experience in accounting/costing/financial reporting & analysis
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems (SAGE/SAP)
- Consolidation system experience; HFM preferred
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, hands-on, results oriented style
- Strong service orientation and ability to work as a team with all levels of management.

Position Summary:
The Cost Accountant applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems. Plans study and collects data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. Analyzes data obtained and records results. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain accurate costs for aerospace parts and systems.
- Perform cost analysis for manufacturing projects, including labor, material, and overhead.
- Support pricing decisions, proposals, and contract bids by providing detailed cost estimates.
- Monitor and analyze cost variances and report findings to management and program teams.
- Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations including FAR , DFARS , and CAS .

The Cost Accountant is responsible for all the cost accounting operations of the company. This includes coordination with Operations for new product's BOM and standard cost set-up, analyzing purchase price and other manufacturing variances and overhead absorption, preparing the excess and obsolete reserve analysis and participation in the monthly close process through the preparation of general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules. This role is hands-on.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all cost accounting related activities: month end close (journal entries and corresponding account reconciliations), overhead absorption, inventory reconciliations, and mfg. variances tracking and monitoring.
•Work closely with AP to review the assembly and testing price variance.
•Prepare the quarterly OH forecast and analysis, change the OH rate in NetSuite.
•Maintain standard cost based on FIFO, change the standard cost as necessary. Prepare quarterly standard cost version in NetSuite.
•Responsible for quarterly E&O inventory reserve analysis and warranty reserve analysis.
•Accrue quarterly inventory cost and sub-contractor assembly and testing cost.
•Perform monthly sub-contractor inventory reconciliation, coordinate the annual physical inventory count and reconciliations.
•Reconcile perpetual inventory to the GL.
•Coordinate with Operations for new product's BOM and standard cost set up.
- Responsible for overseeing inventory movements and ensuring the costs are appropriately monitored and captured.
•Interface with the SOX internal auditors for internal control matrix testing.
•Interface with BDO and prepare supporting documentation for the year-end financial audit and the quarterly reviews.
- Look for opportunities to automate and improve cost accounting processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree and five plus years of prior experience in a semiconductor industry cost accounting.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel including pivot tables and vlookups.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, highly analytical, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter, proactive and organized with an ability to work well with others but also to work independently.

Role Overview
In this role, you'll support inventory control, cost variance analysis, budgeting, and tax filings while collaborating closely with the Plant Controller. Key Responsibilities
- Perform cost accounting, financial analysis, and reporting for the production plant
- Maintain BOMs and annual standard costs
- Reconcile inventory monthly and safeguard plant assets

- Analyze inventory obsolescence and participate in cycle counts
- Assist with budget preparation and planning
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns

Job Purpose:
This is an outstanding role for an independent and experienced cost accounting professional that will have responsibility for all manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory, warranty, all operational variances, and updating the business system for standard costs.Additional schedules and reconciliations as requested by the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities
Manage the month-end and year-end financial close processes for manufacturing activities.
Prepare journal entries for cost of sales, warranty, inventory, and all manufacturing production variances.
Be committed to continuous improvement.Able to search for root cause and develop corrective actions.
Prepare monthly and yearly schedules and reconciliations for warranty, inventory, scrap, cost of sales, sales, quality, & manufacturing activities.
Maintain purchase price variance and warranty accrual analyses.
Prepare entries related to and report on production overhead absorption.
Maintain standard costs for labor, overhead, and materials.
Prepare sales and cost of sales budgets and forecasts as well as monthly analysis and reconciliation.
Review and approve document change notices including cost analysis.
Schedule and manage annual standard cost review and roll up.
Conduct inventory excess and obsolescence review, prepare associated journal entries, and work with operations to address issues.
Work with operations on the cycle count program and report results.
Prepare year-end audit reports and schedules.
Monitor manufacturing processes for alignment with financial reporting documents.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of company financial reporting documents.
Perform ad hoc reporting and analyses.
Interface with Accounts Payable Specialist on inventory-related issues.
Strong interface with manufacturing operations personnel.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting
6-10 years of cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ERP systems.Include with response specific systems used.
Must have extremely strong knowledge related to inventory, both physical and financial.Understands both physical and financial flow of inventory through a manufacturing operation and ERP system.
Solid PC skills include Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
Good knowledge of accounting standards, practices, and controls.
Experience with standard cost systems and cycle count programs.
Pay: $95,000 - $10,000 per year depending on experience, education, and skill set.
