We are seeking an experienced Estimating Engineer to lead quoting efforts for new aerospace components and assemblies. This role involves creating accurate estimates for labor, material, tooling, and cycle times, as well as developing efficient manufacturing processes.

Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Level 3 Cost Estimating Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Production Operations Estimating / Functional Estimating department uses specialized analysts with high end analytical skills and backgrounds in Manufacturing. All analysts within this group vary in experience but are grown into subject matter experts within operations and cost estimating. This position will be located on site in Palmdale, CA. Level 3 analysts are expected to develop solutions to sophisticated problems, which require the regular use of resourcefulness and innovation and review data available. Role Description
In this role, the Cost Analyst position is a unique specialty opportunity to work closely with all technical aspects and requirements of the program, linking technical solution to the cost solution. They are responsible for Life Cycle Cost (LCC) model development & maturation, working with various Engineering, PMOs, and Integration IPT for Advanced Weapons and Systems providing detailed cost estimates. They will lead trade studies, supporting technology development & risk assessments, enhancing affordability opportunities, as well as assisting business case and contract capture activities. The position requires an understanding of at least two of the following analyses: Cost-Effectiveness, Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV), Design to Cost (DTC), and Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI). The qualified candidate will be required to work in a team environment and under a minimum level of guidance and direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and/or update Life Cycle Cost (LCC) model(s) to evaluate labor and material pricing
- Maintain and update escalation tables in accordance with latest economic forecasts, and compare to actual internal escalation rates
- Analyze and update rate and learning curves for different labor and material elements
- Document and effectively communicate cost model assumptions, results, and instructions guides
- Solicit, track, and manage CRI efforts from concept to completion
- Interface with multiple functions, all levels of management, and external customer
- Analyze external customers cost model vs internal model(s), identify disconnects, and make recommended updates as needed
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a timeframe set by management; U.S. Citizenship required
- Must have 12+ years of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelors degree with 8+ years experience or a Masters degree with 6+ years experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking a **Level 4 Senior Principal Cost Estimating Analyst** to join our diverse team of professionals located in **Melbourne, FL** or **St Augustine, FL** .
The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities.
**Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:**
+ Supporting proposal activities of diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement and collaboration with other team members. The ideal candidate will engage in the following:
+ Reviewing and analyzing RFP/Change Orders to determine/develop the costing requirements and goals.
+ Developing compliant estimates according to company and Government policies and procedures.
+ Organizing and estimating initial ROM, or cost targets for medium/large efforts.
+ Preparing cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal
+ Estimates labor and/or material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) and change requests (CRs) data submitted by prospective customers.
+ Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
+ Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
+ Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor. Prepares and maintains historical cost data.
+ Populating existing or creating models with updated information and/or creating report ready spreadsheet tables/graphs.
+ Foreseeing and identifying potential problems (understanding impacts to other areas).
+ Reviewing Task Description/Basis of Estimate for compliance and adherence to the program or capture plan (analogous, parametric, CERs and engineering estimates).
+ Generating and maintaining proposal data files in Propricer and/or Proposal Integration Folders.
+ Performing Regression Analysis and single variate CER equation development.
+ Supporting customer Request for Information (RFIs), fact finding, updates, and corrective actions.
+ Participating or supporting as a member of the contract negotiations team.
+ Supporting Certifications Sweeps and process for certifying proposals.
+ Supporting Customer/Government Audit on a periodic basis.
+ Actively pursuing problem-solving opportunities and suggesting/implementing work-around solutions to improve proposal process.
+ Support of affordability and quality initiatives.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ **Level 4 (Sr. Principal):** Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with10 years of combined experience, or a Master's degree from an accredited university with 8 years of experience. Related experience should be within proposals, pricing, cost estimating, or other business related functions.
+ Experience with statistical analysis
+ Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
+ Experience with CAS, FAR and DFARS government regulations
+ Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge or familiarity of aerospace production operation functions, tasks, and processes.
+ Experience with Production proposals and estimating
+ Ability to create automation tools for the overall Pricing and Estimating team to minimize required administrative tasking and focus on estimating and analysis
+ Persistence and tenacity to meet deadlines in a challenging, multi-tasking environment
+ Pursuing problem solving opportunities and suggesting/implementing work-around solutions to improve proposal process
+ Knowledge of operations touch labor improvement curve theory and modeling.
+ Strong presentation skills.
+ Experience in communicating technical and theoretical analysis.
+ In-depth understanding of Manufacturing and Support Labor and how they interact.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $147,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
