Job Purpose:
Develops, analyzes, audits and evaluates product cost information within established guidelines. Interfaces with manufacturing engineering, design engineering, procurement, sales and marketing to prepare product cost estimation analysis for the purposes of price quotation, new product design, internal cost information requests and cost reductions/increases.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
TheEstimatorwill be a member of the Mechanical Systems Division Business Win Group.
This person will work closely with the Sanmina North American Sales team along with Sanmina plants throughout the world in coordinating the generation of quotations and customer service support for sheet metal high level assemblies.
TheEstimatorwill provide a commitment to the requester of target completion and distribute packages to Purchasing Coordinators as necessary while creating sheet metal labor hour estimates.
This person will also be responsible for classifying BOM Make/Buy and work in creating dimension drawing packages for quotation as required from 3-D models.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience coding complex assemblies with large BOM
Experience in fabrication contract manufacturing
Experience in IT racks, cooling solutions and data center technologies
2-4 years experience in machine shopestimation.
Experience qualifying drawing packages submitted forestimation.
Knowledge with prints of drawings and organization of quotation packages.
Prior experience reviewing all cost estimated packages for completeness & accuracy
Overall mechanical estimating experience is a plus.
Experience with Excel created Bills of Materials and spreadsheets.
Able to work within deadlines and without direct supervision.

The Cost Estimator will play a crucial role in UC Davis Healths capital financial planning and project management processes, providing accurate estimates and analyses for planning design and construction projects. - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on estimating experience for heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing project and construction estimates, schedules, and costs.
- Experience with cost escalation, orders of magnitude, cost of materials, and labor rates.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, BIM models, and work-breakdown structures.
- Proficiency with industry-standard estimating and project-controls software (e.g., HCSS, RSMeans, etc.)
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Master's degree in engineering, construction management, or quantity surveying.
- Active professional certifications such as CCE, CCEA, CCP, CEP, PSP (AACE); PMP or PMI-SP (PMI).
- PE license in relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Experience with large (>$500M), complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects that include highways, roads, bridges, transit (including rail and bus), and/or airport projects.
- Experience delivering projects through both traditional and alternative methods (e.g., DB, CM/GC, P3).
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software.
