Job Description
Row Crop Seed Production Interns will be located at a seed production site in the us and will report to site management. Students will get hands-on experience at a North America Seed Production facility and will be involved in fundamental aspects of crop production. Interns are assigned to mentors who outline tasks, assist in role, and project assignment and project completion. All interns will partake in an orientation session and end of assignment wrap up session - location TBD.
Opportunities for this role include summer internship during a 12-week program mid-May to mid-August at our North America Seed Production sites.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
+ Be fully immersed in the seed production process and actively participate in various operations including:
+ Receiving and counting product returns (bagging/re-bagging);
+ Reworking product;
+ Quality sampling and testing;
+ Field inspections;
+ Pollination, detasseling, and flaming;
+ Data collection and analysis;
+ Execution of one product supply system (OnePSS);
+ Plan, execute and complete their site directed project impacting safety, product quality and process optimization in a seed production environment and may have additional opportunities to work on a regional/functional project.

Required Qualifications:
+ Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program;
+ Valid driver's license, as driving between local sites/fields is necessary;
+ Candidates must have their own transportation to and from the worksite, as most of the work locations are situated in areas with no public transportation available;
+ Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment;
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization;
+ Self-motivated with a strong results orientation;
+ Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
+ Demonstrated ability to manage a deadline while being able to focus on details;
+ Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to organize (thoughts, data, etc.);
+ Excellent computer skills related to data acquisition and record keeping;
+ Demonstrated leadership ability and be leaders among their peers;
+ Desire to learn and willing to ask questions and able to adapt to change;
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Pursing a degree in agronomy, crop science, ag business, agriculture technology systems, technology, engineering or related field of study;
+ Use of a company pooled car may be preferred during the workday, if available at your work site. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company's risk screening for hiring drivers. MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.10 to $41.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
