**Row Crop Production Intern**
Row Crop Seed Production Interns will be located at a seed production site in the us and will report to site management. Students will get hands-on experience at a North America Seed Production facility and will be involved in fundamental aspects of crop production. Interns are assigned to mentors who outline tasks, assist in role, and project assignment and project completion. All interns will partake in an orientation session and end of assignment wrap up session - location TBD.
Opportunities for this role include summer internship during a 12-week program mid-May to mid-August at our North America Seed Production sites.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
+ Be fully immersed in the seed production process and actively participate in various operations including:
+ Receiving and counting product returns (bagging/re-bagging);
+ Reworking product;
+ Quality sampling and testing;
+ Field inspections;
+ Pollination, detasseling, and flaming;
+ Data collection and analysis;
+ Execution of one product supply system (OnePSS);
+ Plan, execute and complete their site directed project impacting safety, product quality and process optimization in a seed production environment and may have additional opportunities to work on a regional/functional project.

Required Qualifications:
+ Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program;
+ Valid driver's license, as driving between local sites/fields is necessary;
+ Candidates must have their own transportation to and from the worksite, as most of the work locations are situated in areas with no public transportation available;
+ Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment;
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization;
+ Self-motivated with a strong results orientation;
+ Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
+ Demonstrated ability to manage a deadline while being able to focus on details;
+ Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to organize (thoughts, data, etc.);
+ Excellent computer skills related to data acquisition and record keeping;

In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company's risk screening for hiring drivers. MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.10 to $41.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This critical role requires a deep understanding of soil science, plant physiology, and sustainable farming practices to optimize crop yields and quality. The Agronomist will be responsible for conducting field research, analyzing soil and crop health data, and developing tailored management plans for a variety of crops. - Develop and implement comprehensive crop production plans based on agronomic principles and soil analysis.
- Conduct regular field assessments, including soil sampling and crop scouting, to monitor health and identify potential issues.
- Analyze data related to soil fertility, water management, pest pressure, and crop growth.
- Provide expert recommendations on fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease control, and weed management strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, crop varieties, and farming techniques to improve yield and sustainability.
- Collaborate with farm managers and operational staff to ensure efficient implementation of agronomic recommendations.
- Maintain detailed records of field activities, inputs, observations, and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in agronomy and crop science.
- Assist in developing and managing budgets related to crop inputs and management practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in applied agronomy, with a focus on crop production.
- Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil chemistry, and entomology/pathology.
- Proven experience with soil testing, plant tissue analysis, and nutrient management.
- Proficiency in using precision agriculture tools and software (e.g., GPS, GIS, farm management software).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience in the specific crops relevant to the region is highly desirable.
- Must be willing to spend significant time working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
