SUMMARY:

Responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering samples and related items and completing appropriate forms and documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Picks up, transports and delivers samples, documents, materials and other items as needed.
  • Reviews, completes and processes documents, databases, and related materials and information for sample pick up, transport and delivery.
  • Prepares vehicle or truck for daily operations, including documents, safety, and related areas.
  • Provides basic support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding the transport of samples.
  • Provides basic support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee, management and related customer issues.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; experience in related work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Job Purpose

The Driver Managers core responsibility is to manage the performance of approximately 30 to 50 Company drivers. The Driver Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate execution each drivers plan to increase driver productivity and drive profitability for the business. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of approximately 30 to 50 Company drivers including scheduling and compliance with hours-of-service requirements pursuant to DOT regulations.
  • Develop alternative plans when drivers do not execute and manage execution of the new plan.
  • Develop driver work schedules and confirm adherence.
  • Monitor ETAs, PTAs and additional dispatch information.
  • Ensure daily communication with each driver in the TMS system to ensure accurate execution of the plan. 
  • Develop and monitor weekly KPIs to evaluate driver performance and make strong recommendations to the Fleet Manager regarding personnel decisions including the hiring and firing of Company drivers.
  • Partner with external vendors to transition loads when third-party assistance is required.
  • Identify and report out potential late loads to the Customer Service Department and Company management, as appropriate.
  • Manage driver incentive compensation.
  • Assist other Driver Managers and the Dispatch department, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

  • Maintain the motor coach interior, exterior and restroom
  • Verify that the motor coach has the necessary supplies to maintain a sanitary environment (i.e. toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and toilet chemicals).
  • Independently address appropriate maintenance on motor coach
  • Recognize issues that require maintenance on motor coach
  • Repairs non-major malfunctions and/or other issues
  • Get assistance for the passengers by calling or having someone call professional help, such as the police and emergency teams. As much as possible, comfort passengers who may have been injured or who are passengers on the trip. Provide aid within the limits of your training.
  • Interface professionally with customers, hotels, accommodations, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Attend regularly scheduled drivers' meetings.
  • Communicate with passengers in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License.
  • Class A or B with a passenger endorsement
  • Air Brake test for the removal of the air brake restriction
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance requirements
  • Must have good oral communication skills
  • Able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
  • Must be able to follow instructions and take direction
  • Must have working knowledge of vehicle and safety control systems

Salary Range*: $37,000 - 52,800

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
