Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Courier is responsible for managing the daily distribution of mail, packages, and pharmacy prescriptions between our headquarters and clinic locations. This role includes sorting and organizing incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring timely and secure transport of medical, administrative, and confidential materials, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The Courier supports the organization's operations by providing reliable, detail-oriented service and ensuring that essential items reach their destinations safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sort, organize, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages at the headquarters campus.
• Make daily scheduled deliveries of mail, packages, pharmacy prescriptions, medical files, and inventory between clinics and offices.
• Ensure safe, secure, and timely transport of sensitive, confidential, and time-sensitive materials.
• Restock, track, and maintain inventory and supplies at the headquarters location.
• Accurately maintain delivery logs, tracking sheets, or electronic records of transported items.
• Report any delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies to supervisor promptly.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and follow all traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Perform routine vehicle checks (fuel, tire pressure) and report any vehicle maintenance concerns.
• Assist with general support tasks related to mailroom and supply operations as needed.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to staff at all locations.
• Adhere to safety procedures; use PPE as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Required: High School Diploma or GED
  Preferred: 2 years of delivery, inventory, or administrative support experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

None required for this position.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Use Internet/GPS/SharePoint/Teams for resources and collaboration.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
  Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Due to the multi-site responsibilities of this position the incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. routinely (push/pull up to 50 lbs. with carts).

The position may require standing, walking and/or driving more than 4 to 6 hours a day. Work involves frequent lifting, bending, carrying, and moving of packages and supplies. The employee will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.

• In county travel may be required: Yes. The position requires daily driving between clinic and office locations. The employee must be comfortable operating a company vehicle van in varying traffic conditions.

Full-time casual package delivery drivers work eight to ten hours per day and workdays can vary (Monday - Friday) or (Tuesday - Saturday) depending on the business needs.
