Job Type: (CONTRACT/ ON-SITE)

Pay Range: $19/hr to $20 per hour

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

DESCRIPTION

Summary: Provide learning administrative services to support client training needs, including onsite class and training facility support, and oversight and implementation of courses and curriculum as assigned

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for physical set up of onsite/offsite rooms, including configuring tables, setting materials,
and equipment setup
* Collect and return materials to storage after class
* Ensure facility is prepped with quality and client standards are maintained
* Troubleshoot audio visual equipment issues in training rooms
* Maintain course/curriculum information within Learning Management System (LMS)
* Provide onsite point of contact for course owners and class participants for service support
* Manage event activities including class adds, class cancellations, advertising, enrollments,
confirmations, waitlists, facilities scheduling, class close out activities, and reporting
* Enroll students and maintain course rosters for all scheduled courses
* Enter student attendance records into computer database and provide appropriate reports on
attendance to supervisor and/or client
* Maintain and record class evaluation information
* Perform data entry support as it relates to learning administration as needed
* Ensure client standard operating procedures, processes and service level agreements are maintained
* Identify and trouble shoot discrepancies
* Filing of paper training history records at the site
* Perform client requested tasks
* Escalate service issues to Manager for resolution

Qualifications:
* Entry level for Bachelors degree or 2 years of successful working experience in:
* A learning organization
* Training administration (preferred but not required)
* Customer service
* Knowledge of and experience with learning management systems (preferred but not required)
* Experience in Microsoft Office suite
* Team-oriented but self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
* Demonstrated attention to detail, strong quality focus, and well organized
* Successful prioritization of work requirements and multitasking, as necessary
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Client focused to build and maintain professional working relationships
* Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to constant change
* Effective oral and written communication skills with clients, leadership and team members

About The Club:

The Landings Golf and Country Club is located 20 minutes from Savannah, Georgia on Skidaway Island and along with a community of over 8,000 residences encompasses the entire island. In 1974 the Club welcomed its first member and now with a thriving membership, offers many sporting and dining amenities including the choice of playing on any one of its six 18-hole championship golf course.

About the Golf Courses:

The six 18-hole golf courses, all with different designs, offer challenges for the novice to the accomplished golfer and were designed by Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills, and Willard C. Byrd. Over the six courses there is an array of warm season grasses including TifEagle, TifGrand, Celebration, 419, Zorro, Zeon, Empire, El Toro and Platinum and cool season Perennial Ryegrass. There are 4 independent maintenance facilities located on the property and the Club has partnered with John Deere on a 4-year lease agreement.

The Club prides itself in continuous improvement and has a long-term capital plan that consists of all future golf course renovations. Some of the projects include:

  • In 2026 work on the Deer Creek course will include strip/flip of greens, collar replacement, re-grassing of fairways and tees.
  • In 2027 or 2028, there will be a full renovation of the Terrapin Point course.
  • In 2030 and beyond, work will begin on phase II of the master plan, which includes irrigation, cart path replacement, and a tee.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be assigned to the Deer Creek Course. This course is a stand-alone 18-hole property. Each year, this course hosts the Korn Ferry event each spring, The Club Car Championship. The course was completely redone in 2010 by Tom Fazio with Tif Eagle greens and Celebration wall-to-wall. Additionally, the approaches and run offs were replaced with Tif Grand.

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Activities would include assisting in the budgeting, developing agronomical plans, scheduling and then implementing the daily activities such as course setup, daily maintenance, cultural practices, chemical application and calibration, and irrigation problem-solving and repair and leading projects in construction, renovations, and enhancements. This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility in leading, directing, overseeing, assisting, training, and coaching staff.

Additionally, their organizational structure allows Assistants to move up to course and multi-course superintendent positions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the maintenance and repair of pumps, irrigation, and drainage systems and performing preventive maintenance as appropriate.
  • Supervise and assist in the daily preparation of the golf course, including mowing, course set-up, tee marker and rake placement, hazard stakes, and out-of-bounds markers.
  • Perform sprayer and fertilizer spreader calibration and assist in chemical/fertilizer applications.
  • Inspect turf, shrubs, and other outdoor Club areas to assess pesticide/fertilizer needs and apply as needed to maintain excellent grounds and golf course condition.
  • Frequently meet and greet members and guests, assisting and responding proactively to their needs.
  • Check inventories and ensure product inventory levels are maintained and chemical storage areas and mixing areas are in compliance with state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all equipment and chemical/fertilizer inventories and applications.
  • Train staff and ensure all safety policies and procedures are practiced in the safe and efficient operation and care of turf equipment and the Club.
  • Follows safety guidelines described in the operating procedures and generally practices behavior that ensures the safety of staff, members, and guests.
  • Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Experience and knowledge in golf course maintenance.
  • Experience in leading golf course maintenance teams and projects.
  • Familiarity with golf course budgets and managing to budget.
  • Knowledge of pest control products and their applications.
  • Knowledge of turf chemical and fertilizer products and their applications.
  • Knowledge of irrigation utilization, drainage installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Have a current Georgia pesticide license or the ability to acquire a license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have a BS or Associates Degree in turf grass management, or related certificate and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

The Course Maintenance Manager is focused on the successful implementation, delivery, and maintenance of online classroom content and technologies. The individual in this position works in collaboration with course development, support teams and university stakeholders at partner institutions on the production of digital learning activities, content management, and learning technology tool management. This includes providing recommendations that enhance the learning experience through the most effective use and deployment of technology best practices and tools. The Course Maintenance Manager leads a team, administering and overseeing digital education platforms and authoring tools that achieve customer objectives. They have a strong background in support and learning technology - ensuring that customers are focusing on course sustainability and benefits of learning technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Lead the Course Maintenance support teams to ensure that university customers fully leverage learning system and technology platform applications - with a focus on continual improvement, enhancement, and overall end user experience.
  • Responsible for managing Course Maintenance team personnel which include but is not limited to onboarding, training, mentorship, staff evaluation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and academic partners to establish and improve support procedures.
  • Manages operational activities for educational technology, content management, learning management systems.
  • Establishes regular reporting and metrics to monitor team progress to goals and identify gaps.
  • Work closely with key vendors and Technical Account Manager(s) for critical systems.
  • Remain current on all new releases of learning platforms and technology to ensure universities are benefitting from new features and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support new development and/or enhancement requests related to learning technologies, ensuring that the appropriate workflows are in place to efficiently prioritize and process updates.
  • Remain agile and focused on optimizing business processes and learning technology operations to improve digital teaching and learning delivery.
  • Serves as a resource in troubleshooting and problem-solving university customer system issues, providing regular reports and updates as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements :

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience working and leading learning technology teams, ideally in a large progressive online university, professional education or ed tech environment
  • Knowledge of learning technology products and platforms that support degree programs as well as non-degree and certificate programs
  • Experience leading
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with shared assets and timing dependencies on schedule
  • Proficiency in Desire 2 Learn, Adobe Experience Manager, Service Now and other platforms preferred
  • Experience solving business problems (preferably related to course content management/development/support) in a higher education setting
  • Experience as a Content Management System, Learning Management System, and Ticketing System power user (running reports, configuring settings, testing, etc.)

The Course Advisor/Starter monitors play on the golf course, and politely requests slow groups to speed up play. The Starter welcomes the Member and/or Guest to the course and reminds players of special play conditions, such as keeping cars on car paths.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent education. Basic knowledge of golf and previous experience in a golf country club preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Assist PGA TOUR players, Members and Guests with their golfing needs, ensuring that every step of their golf experience at the club runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible
  • Greet and welcome all Members and Guests and positively promote the service philosophy of the TPC and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
  • Communicate emergency and safety information to Members and Guests in a calm and clear professional manner when alarm is sounded
  • Observe play on the golf course and ensure the standard is communicated and maintained daily as it relates to pace of play
  • Assist Members and Guests with information that may help them play the course (e.g., yardage markers on sprinkler heads to middle of green)
