Position Purpose:

Supervises adults and juveniles on or anticipating probation by preparing presentence investigations and social histories; interviewing victims; assessing offenders' risks and needs; making recommendations to the court for sentences and dispositions; developing treatment plans and linking offenders with appropriate community-based services; and investigating, supervising, and counseling individuals to facilitate their personal, social, and economic adjustment in their communities.   • Assisting Judges in forming sentences and dispositions for offenders that provide accountability and punishment and encourage rehabilitation; and at the same time provide community safety.
  • Referring offenders to services considering court orders, family dynamics, and individual difficulties and skills to facilitate their personal, social, and economic adjustment in their communities.
  • Supervising probationers and diversion program participants by conducting visits at homes, work, schools, or elsewhere in their communities and by telephone; keeps precise records of all meetings; and obtains verification for completion of services to check on their progress and ensure compliance with court orders.
  • Performing court duty and attending offenders' hearings routinely to expedite court processes and assist individuals and agencies involved.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social sciences, criminal justice, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Work experience in social services, corrections, domestic violence, disability services, drug and alcohol centers, treatment centers, group homes, or a related field is preferred.

Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is required for employment.

Essential Job Functions

The Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center provides safe, humane and secure temporary custody for juveniles pending court proceedings, or those who have been adjudicated on delinquent charges. In addition to ensuring the safety of youth while in secure care, the Department provides a wide range of programming to address the physical, educational, emotional and social needs of the resident population, offering officers the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and skills to effect positive change in the lives of at risk youth. The behavior management program utilized at the Center is a group-based, behavior modification system that allows youth to be rewarded for positive behavior and positive behavioral change, and helps shape new behavior by reinforcing 'small steps' along the process of change.

The 2025 starting salary is $50,914.50. This position requires officers to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts vary from 9 hours to 11 hours.

The starting salary is set by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police and is not subject to change. Experienced candidates with prior employment as a Probation Officer may be eligible to start at a higher rate of pay based on their experience.

Designation: Mission Critical Position

Description of Duties: The individual in this role will act as a liaison for Accountability Court services for Houston County and Southwestern Judicial Circuits. The Coordinator for Court Services performs a key role in assessment, coordination of legal matters, and specialized conditional release planning for individuals who are found by the courts to suffer from a Mental Health and/or Addictive Disease. Participants served may also include those who have been found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, incompetent to stand trial and/or under pre-trial diversion. This individual will be required to travel 50% of time and will serve as POC for court participants, working directly with Accountability Court Teams. They will be responsible for providing clinical updates and progression as well as clinical recommendations to the Accountability Court Team weekly. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that minimum treatment court requirements are obtained with each individual served through the courts. In addition, will collaborate with interagency clinical staff to ensure clinical treatment recommendations are addressed in treatment and will provide ongoing supervision and monitoring of all treatment plan needs of court participants. This individual will be responsible for ongoing communication with external Accountability Court Team members to ensure multiple systems are being addressed around participant's treatment (i.e. legal, home, work, community, etc). This individual will conduct individual, group, and family therapy when indicated to meet minimum standards set by Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ). This individual will obtain certification required/requested by CACJ or Accountability Court programs to ensure evidence based treatments are being used with participants. This individual will be required to document services in both agency software as well as court. This individual will be required to conduct assessments on site at jail, in homes, and other areas when indicated. The Coordinator will be required to attend treatment meetings and court as well as balance their roles and responsibilities within the agency. They will be responsible for completing monthly reports to ensure program fidelity both clinically and financially. This individual will also be responsible for a minimum of 55% billable productivity time (96 hours per month). Transporting individuals served is a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications: Licensed by Georgia State Composite Board to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT). Working Knowledge of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Provider Manual. Must have a valid, unrestricted GA Driver's License.

Position Summary: The Certified Peer Support Specialist will provide 1:1 peer support to individuals in need of peer support services in Waukesha County. This includes completion of initial and ongoing Needs Assessments, and progress notes for each interaction with individuals in the program, as well as documentation of all reporting requirements as indicated by the funding source.

  • Work with the participants' collateral and community contacts to promote continuity of care with written and explicit consent to support their recovery journey.

  • Assist participants in their process of stabilization and recovery.

  • Conduct outreach to local businesses to promote the understanding and use of peer support services, through educational presentations.

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and weekly supervision.

  • Attend in-service training and conferences as required.

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Maintain Peer Support State Certification, Knowledge of the Wisconsin Criminal Justice System; knowledge of local treatment programs and community resources to include housing, education, public transportation; knowledge of the Circuit Court Access Program (CCAP); Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues; good organizational, computer and typing skills; good judgment; effective use of time, must be trained in all WCS required Evidence Based Principals, including mandated reporter training, within 90 days of hire and follow models for fidelity established by the agency.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • High school or GED/HSED required; graduate of state Certified Peer Specialist training
  • Possess current Certified Peer Specialist certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Personal experience with mental health and substance use needs and knowledge of recovery principles

Director of Integrative Clinical and Court Services Location: Full-Time | On-Site

Lead the Intersection of Clinical Excellence and Legal Advocacy

We’re hiring a Director of Integrative Clinical and Court Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for clinical programming and court-involved services at our behavioral health hospital. This role ensures trauma-informed, legally compliant care through collaboration with clinical teams, legal partners, and community resources.

Align treatment planning with legal circumstances in collaboration with clinical leadership.

Oversee operations related to involuntary commitments and forensic evaluations (e.g., Ensure timely and accurate legal documentation and court packet preparation.

Represent the hospital in court hearings and coordinate staff involvement.

Master’s degree in Social Work or related clinical mental health field required. 5+ years in psychiatric/mental health care.

~Strong knowledge of involuntary treatment processes and forensic behavioral health.

~ Familiarity with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and patient rights standards.
