Job Description
The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Operations engineer responsible to provide engineering support to ensure department equipment (cranes, doors, platforms, and elevators) are properly maintained - available to support KSC operations with a high level of reliability. Engineer will develop work authorization documents (WADs) for department owned equipment to include maintenance job plans, operational job plans, and non-conformance (corrective maintenance) job plans. Provides troubleshooting support for equipment as required and performs task team leader function as required. Experience with troubleshooting PLC based systems to include motor drives. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Solumina and Maximo) is highly desired.
**Responsibilities**
+ Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills with a proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment as required to coordinate and technically plan work activities including interorganizational support.
+ Ability to lead multiple projects and priorities across the areas of responsibility.

**Qualifications - External**
High school diploma or equivalent; 15 years related experience.
State Certified Elevator Technician license.
**Essential Functions**
**Physical Requirements**
+ Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
+ Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary.
+ Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
+ Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
+ Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
+ Must be able to work in tight confined space areas.
**Work Environment**
+ All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
+ Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
+ Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
+ Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
**Equipment and Machines**
+ Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.
+ Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
**Attendance**
+ Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
+ Must be dependable and punctual.
+ Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
**Other Essential Functions**
+ If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
+ Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
+ Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives.
+ Government security clearance may be required in the future.

Under general supervision, performs specialized skilled work in the operation of one or more types of motorized heavy equipment used in various operations of the City Public Works Department. Heavy Equipment Operator
ABOUT THE ROLE
All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. Mobile operators are given primary responsibility of performing all plant and quarry tasks that require the use of heavy mobile equipment. The associated equipment of the limestone quarry and the plant equipment are also considered equipment to be operated through mobile operators. This person must have experience working with a drag line.
Shift: 3pm - 12pm
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assume that environmental, health and safety are the first priority of the business.
- Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.
- The teams are limestone quarry and plant mobile equipment with a salaried supervisor coordinating team activities.
- Tasks and equipment utilized are changed per requirements of plant needs; therefore, individuals must possess a variety of task skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School Diploma
- Must pass all plant minimum required hiring qualifications.
- Must have experience working with a drag line.
- Work well in a team and a minimum supervised setting.
- Must be willing to work holidays, weekends various shifts and overtime as directed.
- Demonstrated ability for positive contributions when working within teams.
- Must be willing to accept change and strive for improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to operate mobile equipment.
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Possess communication skills. ADA Limitations while performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to travel through a Aggregate plant, i.e. walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection,respirators etc.). The employee will at times be exposed to extremely hot/cold, dusty, noisy, or dark situations. At times, work will be performed at great heights or in small confined spaces.
Additional Requirements:
- Previous Underground mining experience
- Previous welding, cutting experience (plus) no required.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills required (English)
- Haul trucks, loaders, and various mine equipment experience preferred
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Part 48 MSHA training
- Local 150 preferred
- Knowledge of products, industry terminology
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Good communication skills - verbal and listening
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
