The Content Creator & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating compelling written and visual marketing content to tell Salisbury University's story on social media and other digital platforms. This position produces professional social media content aligned with SU's brand in support of strategic marketing and enrollment goals. Working with the Director of Enrollment Marketing, this position will create, edit and publish social media content, and manage SU's presence, across existing and new platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Flickr, Threads, Bluesky, etc. This position also generates content and manages Admissions' @FlocktoSU accounts, and supports content generation for other channels like email marketing, paid advertising, webpages, publications, etc. This position captures video footage and still photos to support storytelling and works collaboratively with the Marketing Video Producer and University Videographer/Photographer on visual assets. As part of the Enrollment Management team, this position works collaboratively with Admissions, the Graduate School, University Communications, and representatives of SU's academic schools and colleges, etc. to support SU's efforts to build brand awareness and reach the key audiences of prospective students and families, as well as current students and the SU community. This position should be passionate about social media, telling SU stories, and driving SU's brand forward.
This person reports to the Director of Enrollment Marketing.
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related experience. Demonstrated ability to create and manage professional, compelling social media content. Experience with video production and photography, and related equipment. Experience with Mac operating system, Adobe Creative Suite, video/photo editing software, digital asset management systems, and social media content management tools.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Must have creative, professional and adaptable writing skills, and be a thoughtful and efficient communicator. Should be able to confront challenges confidently with a calm, positive mindset and be able to find solutions. Content capturing may involve some night and weekend work.
Professional experience in an educational environment, marketing or communication is preferred.
