Responsibilities
- Works with a group of specified lawyers and clients to expedite collection of the firms accounts receivable balances. Ensures that receivables are realized at as close to 100% as possible and collected in a timely manner in accordance with stated firm policy.
- Proactively addresses aged receivables with lawyers and suggests action plans to yield either payment or other resolution.
- Routinely communicates with Finance Management, Partners, and Billing to understand issues that may result in delays in payment or poor realization of firm receivables.
- Coordinates the resolution of billing issues, particularly involving electronic billing reductions.
- Utilizes firm standard software to identify and prioritize accounts for follow-up and monitoring.
- Works with the Cash Team and the Billing Team to resolve unapplied/suspense cash items. Helps to identify where payments should be posted in situations where remittance advice is missing or unclear.
- Assists with preparation of monthly reports on top inventory items.
- Responds to inquiries from clients, lawyers and secretaries related to receivables levels and cash receipts. Utilizes firm standard reporting tools to report out of firm databases on issues related to the above.
- Coordinates write-offs of aged or otherwise uncollectible invoices.
- Responds to audit requests.
- Facilitates accuracy in cash targets/forecast by communicating with Billing, Billing Lawyers and financial managers about issues that will impact collection of inventory prior end of collection target month, especially before to December 31st.
- Work on multiple special projects as needed.
- Minimum Associates degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience required, higher degree preferred.
- Minimum two years experience with professional services time and billing software such as Elite Enterprise, Aderant Billing Expert or Elite 3E is preferred.
- Minimum two years experience with professional services inventory management software, such as ARCS from Minisoft or *Collect from Select Associates is preferred.
- Minimum two years experience in a professional services environment (legal, accounting, consulting, engineering, etc) working in a Finance department collections role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel spreadsheets required.
- Excellent verbal, written, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service while always mindful of process improvement.
- Assertive, proactive, courteous and professional. Responds timely to requests for assistance.
- Prioritizes, handles multiple tasks simultaneously and is flexible.
- Has a keen eye for detail and can readily identify issues that will impede a process.
- Demonstrates initiative, an analytical thought process, critical thinking and a consistent ability to identify and communicate opportunities to improve existing processes.

**Job responsibilities**
+ Manages a team of quality control analysts including governing critical KPIs including service level, productivity, quality control, and quality assurance results providing feedback on performance and driving corrective action as needed
+ Responsible for overall quality of work for quality analysts ensuring accuracy of errors cited including alignment to citation practices, system updates and documentation, and service level requirements in an effort to reduce portfolio risk, and improve client experience

Job responsibilities
- Manages a team of quality control analysts including governing critical KPIs including service level, productivity, quality control, and quality assurance results providing feedback on performance and driving corrective action as needed
- Responsible for overall quality of work for quality analysts ensuring accuracy of errors cited including alignment to citation practices, system updates and documentation, and service level requirements in an effort to reduce portfolio risk, and improve client experience
- Ensure effective communication with the quality control and production team regarding operational policy, process, and procedure changes
- Partner with production training team to develop training to ensure effective on boarding of new quality control analysts, ongoing training to improve subject matter expertise, and long term alignment to policy and procedure trainings
- Partner with process owners and production leadership to provide results and trends, develop action items, and articulate findings verbally in recurring meetings with leadership
- Analyze disputes, reassessments, and escalations through the forum review process demonstrating fortitude against potential adversity
- Recommends process changes to improve services and systems including managing projects of small to medium scale and complexity and completes deliverables timely
- Partner with leadership to develop a comprehensive quality program that ensures an audit ready environment utilizing critical thinking to assess quality and controls impacts to process and procedure changes and articulate to business partners and stakeholders
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with quality program execution and controls
- Strategic vision and execution of operational effectiveness, collaboration, and positive employee experience
- Experience successfully managing people; Inclusive leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across different groups
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadline; Proven expertise in setting direction, creating and executing test strategies
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will guide opportunities / recommendation for improvement
- Strong communication (oral and written) with high degree of comfort communicating with management, as well as conflict resolution skills

- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in commercial lending in controls (with an understanding of CORE preferred), audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance
- Ability to learn the learn the job or an analyst in order to analyze problems with keen attention to detail and ability to make connections, identify issues, and escalate for resolution; Inquisitive and proactive

About the Role
Synchrony is looking to hire an intern for our Portfolio Credit Management team:
Synchrony's assignments offer an array of opportunities to gain valuable hands-on experience. Interns will have opportunities across different areas of the team, giving you unique perspectives on how Credit Management fits into the broader business landscape.
- This role will provide analytics and reporting support required for development and monitoring of Digital portfolio within the Synchrony credit organization.
- Monitor performance metrics like delinquency, loss rate as well as acquisition metrics like approval rate and credit quality of the credit portfolio.
- Identify key trends associated with the portfolio using advanced analytics and provide actionable insights.
- Work on adhoc requests as needed.
- Intermediate SAS proficiency as the assignment will require pulling from large data sets, and that requires some complex SAS logic.
- Exposure to credit and its business preferred.
- The candidate should be self-motivated as most of the work will consist of building new code, without much direct supervision.
- Hands-on experience in large, complex data sets from previous academic projects or professional projects.
- The ability to understand the constraints of a problem and identify the tradeoffs.
