Job Description
Robert Half has partnered with a thriving global company on their search for an experienced Credit Specialist. We are looking for a candidate who can identify and monitor overdue payments, report collection activity, arrange debt payoffs, and resolve billing and customer credit issues. This Credit Specialist will also process payments and refunds, update account records, and provide assistance where collection efforts are needed.
Primary Duties
- Create and maintain credit history records
- Assist with administrative activities
- Document daily collection activity
- Assist with ACH transactions
- Complete collection effort calls
- Daily Cash Applications
- Access and analyze credit worthiness
- Identify delinquent accounts
- Perform payment reconciliations
- Assist customer service department
- Prepare monthly customer statements
- Develop and schedule payment plans
Requirements
The ideal Credit Specialist will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
Other requirements for the Credit Specialist role include and are not limited to:
- 2+ years AR, Cash Apps & Collections experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of billing and collections

**Responsibilities:**
+ Work on credit accounts, following guidelines established for the organization
+ Receipt of customer payments, reconciling outstanding account balances, and preparation of periodic reports on accounts receivable and past due status
+ Help customers with questions/problems on their account
+ Perform routine clerical support for functional groups such as copying, distributing mail, performing simple calculations, and maintaining records and files following standard procedures with all work certified or checked by direct supervisor
+ Approve order ticket releases for credit accounts on restriction
+ Send out lien notices/certified letters
+ Provide sign-off on commercial and residential lien waivers
+ Update and summarize receivables
+ Notify/resolve uncollected COD's and processes/resolves NSF checks
+ Research/resolve credit card charge backs
+ Approve tax exempt forms and issue tax credits
+ Process payments for open customer accounts
+ Collection activities including sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts on repayment terms, and decisions on referring accounts to collection agencies and/or writing off accounts receivables
**Qualifications:**
+ Credit experience of 3 years or more preferred
+ Ability to prioritize workload appropriately in order to balance multiple demands and meet timelines as required
+ Effectively communicate in writing and verbally
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
+ Strong and accurate data entry skills
+ Ability to perform basic math functions

**Responsibilities:**

Global Markets is searching for a Credit Risk Specialist to cover financial institutions. The role reports to the Head of Credit Services within the Chief Operating Office of SMBC Capital Markets front office. The role's primary function is to assess credit worthiness and produce credit applications and renewals in support of our Global Markets investor businesses. The position is on the trading floor and the work environment is fast paced involving direct contact with front office staff, second line credit officers and our clients. The individual will support activities within our swap dealer and broker dealer businesses including derivatives, FX, repo and securities lending. As part of the first line of defense, the Credit Services Department maintains sound credit management activities liaising where necessary with other departments to review and assess credit risk, monitor credit exposure and provide guidance on credit limits in accordance with policies and procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform credit analyses on Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), asset managers, insurance companies and banks with emphasis on financial analysis, asset quality, liquidity, historical performance, and key risk.

**Qualifications and Skills**
+ BA/BS required with concentration in finance or business

+ Excellent understanding of derivatives and SFT product risk
