The Cape Fox Cultural Foundation is seeking a dedicated Cultural Ambassador (CA). The Cultural Ambassador serves as a key representative of the Cape Fox Cultural Foundation (CFCF), promoting Tlingit heritage, language, and traditions through community engagement, educational outreach, and cultural programming. The CA fosters intercultural understanding, strengthens community ties, and supports the Foundation's mission to preserve and celebrate Alaska Native culture.
The Cultural Ambassador will also support retail operations within the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center as needed. Duties may include but are not limited to assisting customers and guests, cashier duties, as well as keeping gift shop safe and presentable to customers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Cultural Representation & Education
• Share Tlingit cultural knowledge through presentations, storytelling, and workshops.
• Represent CFCF at community events, schools, and cultural gatherings.
• Support Tlingit language revitalization efforts and traditional arts demonstrations.
Community Engagement
• Build relationships with Elders, youth, and community members to promote cultural contfinuity.
• Coordinate and participate in events such as the Elder Dinner, youth programs, and seasonal celebrations.
Program Support
• Assist in planning and executing cultural programs and grant-funded initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Grants Manager and other staff to ensure cultural integrity in programming.
• Document and report on outreach activities and community feedback.
• Participate in weekly check-in meeting to review accomplishments, challenges, and upcoming goals.

SWCA has an opportunity in our Sacramento, California office for Archaeological Field Technicians (HR Title: Cultural Resources Technician) who will assist the Field Director and Project Team in completing archaeological pedestrian surveys, construction monitoring, and other field or office tasks. You will assist with GPS data collection using tablet units, coordinate with contractors in the field, and communicate with the Team through daily reporting of field activities. This is an on-call, hourly position. You should be available to work 40+ hours per week on an as-needed, on-call basis.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist Navy personnel with matters affecting cultural and historic resources including archaeological resources, cultural and historic artifacts and historic structures at Navy, Marine Corps and other DoD installations within the NAVFAC PAC Area of Responsibility.

- Evaluate cultural resources for recommendations for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

- Bachelor's degree in history, historic preservation, anthropology, or related field is required.
- Knowledge and experience in cultural resources management including archaeology and/or historic buildings.
- Working knowledge of Section 106 consultation processes.
- Experience working with cultural and historic resources in the Pacific region and/or military history is desired.

Job Description
An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Environmental Services
The Environmental Services group is responsible for the full life cycle of infrastructure development, from permitting new projects, to the remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. They support a variety of clients including those in the transportation, manufacturing, industrial, oil and gas, chemical and utility spaces. They also work with municipal, state, and federal government clients.
Our Anthropology/Archaeology Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard archaeological techniques and procedures in the cultural resources management industry. Responsibilities include assisting with archaeological and historical pre-field investigation research and preparation, performing archaeological field studies in a variety of vibrant locales, practicing soil identification and description, assisting with archaeological site recording, conducting data and artifact analysis, GIS analysis, curation, preservation, and cataloging duties, and preparation of deliverables such as survey reports, site forms, and desktop reviews. Previous archaeological experience, such as a field school, is preferred. Geoarchaeological experience or interest is not required, but a plus. Previous GIS experience is not required, but a plus. Interns are expected to perform archaeological fieldwork, which could include walking up to 10 miles a day and digging shovel tests or hand auger tests in a variety of settings.

+ Assist with responses to general questions.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
+ Present solutions to concerns.
+ Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
+ Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.

**Qualifications**
+ Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related degree from an accredited program with at least one year of post-secondary education.
+ Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
+ Prior internship and/or related archaeological/cultural resources experience preferred.
+ Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
+ Ability to travel and perform archaeological field work. Must be able to walk up to 10 miles a day and dig shovel tests in a variety of settings.
+ Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
