Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our Day Academy in Highland,NY, this position is responsible for providing leadership to teachers and other staff in the areas of curriculum development and behavior. In conjunction with the administration, they will coordinate and conduct training sessions for all classroom staff, as well as conduct observations to evaluate the effectiveness of training and program implementation. The Curriculum Coordinator will also provide direct instruction to students to assist teachers in developing instructional programs, when it appears a student is not making adequate progress. In the absence of a teacher, the Curriculum Coordinator will take over duties for the assigned classroom until a permanent teacher is in place. They will administer and manage online database systems, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, ensurethat all reports and documentation is presented on time for annual reviews, and audit all IEPs for completeness and correctness pre- and post- CSE.
**Salary:** $74,752 - $79,984 annually

**Qualifications**
**EDUCATION** : Master's Degree in Special Education with active NYS certification
**EXPERIENCE** : At least five years experience supervising and training staff; at least five year's experience with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** : Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending and lifting of 50 pounds or more. Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to singlehandedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Position Summary
This non-student hourly, 9-month, part-time, approximately 50% FTE hybrid position, without benefits, provides coordination for the Veterinary Communication for Professional Excellence ( VCPE ) Communication Courses. Specific assistance is requested in prepping coursework, hosting trainings and communication laboratories, and course closing tasks.
The position provides administrative assistance to the two faculty members in the VCPE section. Primary duties include organization of course materials, coordination of communication coaches and simulated clients, ordering supplies, event planning for training and laboratory sessions, and setting up, monitoring, and tearing down the course classroom and small group meeting rooms. The work can be entirely in person or at least on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (7:00 am to 1:00 pm) and other training events. Approximately 20 hours/week.

We are looking for an individual who will maintain accurate training records, and training files, assists with preparation of educational materials, and collaborates with all CSD members to ensure smooth operations and execution of all staff development initiatives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support curriculum and content development by working with Clinical Educators and leadership to create instructional materials, presentations, and interactive resources. Proofread and format content for accuracy and professionalism.

  2. Coordinate training programs and events such as orientation didactics, workshops, and department-specific sessions—managing scheduling, invitations, logistics, and tracking participant completion and outcomes.

  3. Provide administrative support to the CSD team, including managing meeting logistics, maintaining attendance records, and distributing training communications.

  4. Maintain training records and compliance documentation , monitor up-to-date staff documentation and competency assessments. Collaborate with QA to conduct training file audits and generate compliance reports, identifying and addressing discrepancies.

  5. Manage learning management systems (LMS) and resources , including Traincaster LMS and the DCIDS electronic clinical resource hub. Responsibilities include uploading content, creating and upholding site infrastructure, providing assignments, monitoring usage and permissions, updating materials, and coordinating with IT and CSD team members.

  6. Collect and analyze training-related data , including surveys and performance metrics, to support continuous improvement in training processes and outcomes. Prepare reports in partnership with the Project Manager.

  7. Coordinate cross-Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) training alignment , collaborating with training leaders across all three OPOs to ensure consistency in standards of practice and instructional implementation.

  8. Manage departmental supplies and technology needs for training sessions, ensuring availability of materials and smooth operation of equipment in coordination with IT.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Professional Learning Aligned to Title II, Part A Goals:
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based professional development for teachers and school Leaders
  • Align professional learning with Title II, Part A allowable uses, including improving instruction, instructional leadership, and educator effectiveness
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Curriculum & Instruction, and Campus Leaders to identify needs and opportunities for growth
Instructional Coaching and Educator Support:
  • Support and mentor new teachers, including through induction programs aligned with Title II, Part A guidelines
  • Work with campus instructional leaders to provide coaching and feedback to teachers
  • Model instructional practices and facilitate job-embedded learning opportunities
Equity and Educator Effectiveness:
  • Promote equitable access to effective educators by supporting professional learning in high-need schools
  • Use data to identify and address disparities in educator quality and student outcomes
  • Build educator capacity to support diverse student populations including English learners and students with Disabilities
STEM, Technology, and Innovation:
  • Provide professional development in STEM content, robotics integration, and instructional technology
  • Train educators in the responsible and effective use of AI and emerging edtech tools to enhance instruction and learning outcomes
Data-Informed Continuous Improvement:
  • Collect, analyze, and use teacher, student, and program data to evaluate the effectiveness of professional development
  • Adjust training programs and support based on evidence and feedback
Collaboration and Systemic Capacity Building:
  • Collaborate with district departments and campus leaders to build a cohesive professional learning system
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of leadership pipelines and succession planning
  • Partner with external vendors, consultants, and state agencies as needed
