Purpose of the consultancy
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is looking for a skilled and proactive Business Intelligence and Data Analyst with hands-on experience in MS Azure Data Platform and Power BI Solutions. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable data warehouses, integrating diverse data sources, and delivering insightful BI solutions that drive strategic and operational decisions across the Organization.
Statement of Work:
The Business Intelligence and Data Analyst is responsible for the following:

We are embarking on a major initiative to modernize the Finance applications that are downstream to Single Family Corporate Data Warehouse. This involves a substantial effort to update our applications and systems. To ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption, we are looking for experienced Data Analysts who can identify critical system dependencies and assist in modernizing outdated data platforms and workflows. This position is ideal for candidates who are highly analytical, adept at working with large-scale enterprise systems, and possess a strong background in data mapping, ETL, and data warehousing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies between applications and systems on the current CDW platform.
• Analyze and interpret Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) and ETL code to align with modernization objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements for Finance and Accounting systems.
• Create detailed mapping documents that outline data flows, transformations, and system interactions.
• Develop and validate complex SQL queries to support data analysis and migration efforts.
• Assist in mapping source to target tables/columns (Nexus to Finance apps) and define derivation logic as part of the modernization process.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation and traceability of all data lineage and mapping activities.
Required Qualifications:
• At least 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data warehousing, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes with the ability to read and interpret ETL code.
• Practical experience or familiarity with tools such as DataStage, Informatica, SAS, and Python.
• Expertise in complex SQL for data analysis, validation, and script development.
