The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is a foundational role responsible for building the credit union's analytics capabilities and helping transform raw data into actionable insights. Working across departments, including lending, marketing, operations, and IT, the BI Analyst will deliver dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that guide decision-making and improve member experience and operational efficiency. This role will also help shape data governance, promote data literacy across the organization, and support the adoption of consistent metrics and performance tracking.
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily under oversight supervision:
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, iDashboards and Excel.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data from the core system and other internal and external sources (e.g., Loan Origination System (LOS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Customer Experience Platform, Employee Experience Platform).
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver insights that drive operational and strategic decisions.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in member behavior, product usage, and business performance.
- Create repeatable, accurate, and user-friendly reporting tools for departments across the credit union.
- Work closely with the Database Administrator (DBA), Member Information System (MIS), and other data-centric teams to ensure access to quality and timely data.
- Assist with documenting data definitions, reporting logic, and dashboard usage.
- Promote the use of data through training, communication, and data storytelling.
- Contribute to the creation of a data-driven culture by advocating for clean, well-structured data processes.
- Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across departments and branches to deliver optimal and efficient service to our members and employees. Uphold a standard of professionalism actively fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the credit union's products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, Credit Union banking regulations, and OE Federal Credit Union's policies and procedures and current promotions.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field with 1 year of experience in a business intelligence, data analysis, data reporting, or related role or Associates degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field with 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, data reporting, or related role required.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to work with relational databases required.
- Experience with Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau, Looker, iDashboards, etc.) required.
- Proficiency in working with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into data solutions required.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, negotiation and presentation skills; ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners required.
- Ability to self-motivate and to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously required.
Salary Range: $79,148 - $11,954

The offered salary considers experience, education, training, internal peer equity, job location and other business considerations when extending an offer. You will be building PBI dashboards from scratch while also rolling out power applications to create better enhancements. You will be supporting Tag work and helping solve for their large backlog of work that needs to be accomplished. The work is focused on project data (order, dates, units, and creating loading order for annual work plans). They have thousand workloads that they need data insights on and there currently isn't a ton of strategy. They need to create a work plan on how / what will be achieved. Monitor status of all open issues to ensure timely resolution. Respond to inquiries from brokers in a timely manner. Escalate matters to management as appropriate. Gain knowledge of all rules and practices regarding surplus lines law, regulations, and filing procedures. Participate in system enhancements and fixes. Identify and report system issues and participate in the testing and resolution of the system fixes when appropriate. Achieve established quality and quantity objectives for this position. Build proficiency with all programs used in the SLA. Build a working knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures; attend training classes as scheduled. Qualifications Must be a California resident. Minimum requirement of Associate’s degree and two years of work experience. Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience is a plus. The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst I contributes to the overall success of the organization by
developing analytic solutions that support activities related to health services utilization
management, care coordination, quality improvement and population health. Through analyzing
patient claims, member enrollment, and other data, the Senior Healthcare Data Analyst
participates in identifying progress, performance and opportunities for improvement on
programs, quality of care, patient experience, and other metrics. This position requires a
thorough understanding of healthcare data and workflows, combined with an extensive
experience working with large data sets, conducting data analysis, including standard statistical
software (SAS), and creating reports using Tableau.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with business partners, other analysts, and IT to gather and
integrate data from disparate sources. - Responds to ad hoc data requests from business units and leadership
- Assists in design and development of data collection strategies, aggregation, analysis,
and reporting to ensure data integrity and enhance information value. - Participates in design and interpretation of data analyses; provides recommendations for
improvement of data quality and reporting. - Helps build, manage, and/or enhance predictive models
- Assesses reporting and automation requirements and develops appropriate solutions.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of health plan operations, including claims processing,

Education and Experience

experience in data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of major health plan operations: healthcare claims processing, membership, provider, and benefits; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent knowledge of data collection, analysis, statistics and data presentation with experience in data mining techniques and procedures. Experience using statistical packages for analyzing large data sets, SAS and/or SQL a plus. Experience working with administrative data, ideally health care data (Medicaid data a plus). Understanding of health data formats including claims, lab and pharmacy. Knowledge of clinical coding systems (e.g., ICD9, ICD10, CPT).
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Proficiency in inferential and predictive statistical analysis. MS Office, Excel, SQL, SAS, Tableau.
Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
Performance Based Competencies
Ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of various systems related to claims processing, membership, provider, and benefits at PHC. Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret and
understand technical requirements. Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve data issues. Must be highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking. Must be willing and able to provide gracious assistance to users, providers, and other constituents of PHC.
