The role supports the enterprise data security and information protection program by defining, maintaining, and operationalizing governance frameworks, policies, and controls that protect sensitive data throughout its lifecycle. **Key Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will bring a combination of data knowledge, technical fluency, process orientation, and stakeholder management skills to translate business needs into practical, scalable, and technology-enabled solutions. This role will help strengthen data trust, improve consistency in how business rules are defined and managed, and enable more scalable data quality practices across DHH.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Support the strategy, governance, and lifecycle framework for business rule management and data quality management within DHH, with an initial focus on Oncology.
+ Partner with cross-functional business, data, technology, and governance stakeholders to translate business needs into defined data rules, quality checks, governance processes, and implementation requirements.
+ Create and maintain business rule documentation, including ownership, traceability, versioning, approval workflows, and change management practices.
+ Contribute to data quality standards, profiling approaches, issue management processes, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, scorecards, and KPIs.

**The Senior Specialist, Scientific Nomenclature & Reference Data is an individual contributor who supports the stewardship, curation, and integration of chemical, biologic and vaccine product reference data across the drug development lifecycle. This role blends deep chemistry domain expertise, hands-on nomenclature skills, and practical master data capabilities to deliver accurate, traceable, and usable reference data for scientific, regulatory, and other business stakeholders. The Senior Specialist will continuously improve data quality, governance, and automation approaches, so the capability remains adaptable as technologies and ways of working evolve.**
**Primary activities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Derive and assign correct nomenclature (IUPAC and CAS style as appropriate) for small molecules, biologics, and related entities; research and validate existing names for accuracy
+ Create, maintain, and curate company reference/master data for substances and products, and associated descriptive metadata across the product lifecycle
+ Enter and routinely update nomenclature and reference data into centralized systems; perform detailed proofreading, validation and data integrity review activities
+ Define and apply structure standardization and substance representation practices (SMILES, InChI, Mol files); support structure normalization
+ Understand and apply data quality rules
+ Participate in system maintenance, SDLC activities, and end-user acceptance testing for reference data systems

+ Ensure practices reflect relevant regulatory and industry standards (GxP, 21 CFR part 11, ICH, IDMP, WHO Drug Dictionary) and maintain up-to-date knowledge of nomenclature and data standards
+ Preserve confidentiality and adhere to company policies governing information disclosure
**Qualifications:**
**Education and Experience:**
+ Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related scientific disciplines that combine chemistry and biology, plus pharmaceutical industry, regulated industry, or Information Science experience - Bachelor's and 5+ years, Master's/PhD and 3+ years
**Required:**
+ Completed at least one year of organic chemistry
+ Experience or familiarity with deriving chemical nomenclature (IUPAC or CAS style)
+ Experience with structure drawing software (ChemDraw, ACD, Accerlys, etc.)
+ Domain expertise: Strong knowledge of chemical structures, stereochemistry, physicochemical properties, biological sequence representations and concepts, and the drug development process
+ Familiarity with chemical identifiers and formats (SMILES, InChI, CAS, MOL/SDF), spectral data concepts, chemical ontologies/taxonomies, and common cheminformatics tools or libraries
+ Experience establishing stewardship frameworks, SOPs, ownership models, and KPIs to maintain high quality, traceable, and compliant data
+ Demonstrated history of adopting new technologies (AI, ML-assisted curation, knowledge graphs) and willingness to learn & prototype new approaches
+ Very organized and able to work with high attention to detail
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information

The **Data Governance Analyst** is a key contributor to the organization's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) program, ensuring robust data governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all data assets. This role supports the implementation and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks, risk controls, and compliance monitoring processes to safeguard sensitive information, enhance data quality, and ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulations. This role is essential in enabling data-driven decision-making as well as building and enforcing data governance standards. This role reports to the Director of Risk, Compliance & Support.
**_The base salary range is $120,000 to $130,000 per year._**
**_What you'll be doing:_**
+ Partner with business teams to define, document, and maintain data governance and quality procedures, translating standards into actionable controls and creating new standards where needed.
+ Will drive and coordinate data classification, dictionaries, metadata, and lineage documentation across all data assets to support discoverability, audit readiness, and risk mitigation. Partner with engineering on lineage tooling and keep documentation current as the environment evolves.
+ Define and enforce standards for PII handling and data retention across production, staging, and test environments, ensuring privacy obligations are met consistently and data is retained only as long as required.
+ Training and guidance to business stakeholders, data owners, and data stewards on data governance best practices.
+ Generating reports and dashboards to track governance performance, data quality, risk indicators, and compliance metrics.
+ Collaborate with Advance Cyber, Infrastructure Security, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Services toestablish guidelines for user access, platform roles, table creation, integration connection, data exports, and AI/ML access based on data privacy considerations.
+ Support data quality initiatives including profiling, monitoring, and remediation across revenue and audience data.
+ In partnership with data owners and engineering, conduct systematic analysis of data assets to identify integrity issues, investigate root causes, and drive remediation.
+ Serve as the policy-layer owner for all data platforms, covering access patterns, data sharing, integration connections, and export controls, and partner with data engineering to ensure governance requirements are built into pipelines and models, not applied after the fact.
+ Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations such as CCPA and other U.S. state laws.
+ Liaise with Infrastructure, legal, and business teams to resolve governance issues.
+ Support data risk assessments and contribute to compliance audits.
+ Operate escalation procedures in the event of an incident.
+ Participate in monitoring, triaging, and resolving infrastructure security issues to ensure the stability and security of the company's infrastructure.
+ Track governance performance, data quality metrics, and risk indicators, and partner with the broader engineering organization to ensure governance policy and infrastructure security are aligned; surface findings to data leadership.
+ Develop and maintain scripts for automation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
+ Utilize information technology service management (ITSM) ticketing systems and fulfillment platforms to efficiently manage and resolve service requests and incidents.
**To be considered for this role, you should have:**
+ Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or related field
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in GRC, data governance, data management, or a related role
+ Experience leading and coordinating cross-discipline project teams
