Job Responsibilities
1. Backup Solutions Management
1)Design, deploy, and maintain data backup strategies using NetBackup and Commvault software, leveraging your 2+ years of experience. Ensure regular and reliable backups of critical business data across various systems.
2)Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize backup performance.
2. Database Operation
1)With 2+ years of database operation and maintenance experience (in Oracle, MongoDB, or Redis; better if proficient in multiple), perform day-to-day administrative tasks. This includes user management, permission allocation, and schema management to ensure data security and integrity within the database environment.
2)Analyze database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies. Optimize query execution plans, index management, and resource allocation to enhance database response times and throughput.
3)Continuously monitor the health of databases, including disk space utilization, memory usage, and transaction logs. Proactively identify and address potential issues such as disk full warnings or abnormal resource consumption to prevent service disruptions.
4)Plan, test, and execute database version upgrades and security patch installations. Ensure that upgrades are seamless and do not impact ongoing business operations, while keeping the database environment secure and up-to-date.
3. Disaster Recovery (DR) Initiatives
1)Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans. Ensure that data protection strategies align with DR objectives for business continuity.
2)Participate in the company's annual BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) drills in the US. Be responsible for pre - drill communication, including coordinating with relevant departments to confirm roles, timelines, and requirements. During the drills, track every detail, such as the execution status of recovery procedures, identification of bottlenecks, and compliance with predefined processes. After the drills, summarize findings and contribute to updating DR plans based on lessons learned.
3)Update DR plans regularly based on changes in the IT environment, new business requirements, and insights from BCDR drills.
4. Collaboration and Support
1)Work closely with cross-functional teams, including OS team, network team, and application team, to ensure end-to-end data protection.
2)Provide technical support for data protection-related issues, participating in on-call as needed to address urgent problems.

The Role at a Glance
This position will be responsible for data protection technology and platform delivery, and operational tasks within a core infrastructure organization. This specialist position will perform and deliver on routine data protection implementation and support assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge to administer the data protection infrastructure and service portfolio.
What you'll be doing

Responsible for the engineering delivery of initiatives and operational support tasks related to the enterprise data protection technologies and platforms. This includes installation, configuration, and sustainment of Dell Power Protect Data Manager (PPDM), Dell Networker backup and Dell Cyber Vault recovery software platforms.

Responsible for troubleshooting enterprise data protection infrastructure, services, backup system(s) network connectivity, and performance issues to resolution, completely and accurately documenting all work activity in the organizations problem tracking system. This includes Tier II incident and problem management executing within our ServiceNow incident, problem and change management system.

Responsible for reviewing, identifying, and escalating required issues and incidents to the vendor, when required to ensure the most expedient resolution for the business, capturing and documenting all learnings to build and expand our process and incorporate into the data protection service delivery and operations.

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for data protection technologies and platforms and assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

Promotes and enhances data protection and core infrastructure organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Performs and delivers on routine data protection assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of responsibility including operational stability and capacity management. This includes working directly with the IT Service Desk, infrastructure, and business support teams to validate, confirm and assess data protection infrastructure and functionality.

Identifies and communicates to data protection, management process improvements, cost optimization ideas and tactics that will reduce workloads or improve quality for the data backup and recovery functionality.
What we're looking for

4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology (Minimum Required)

3+ years of experience with data protection operations, support and developing and maintaining the relationship with the off-shore team resources. Working with other infrastructure peer teams properly documenting, escalating, and resolving all backup and recovery issues. (Required)

3+ years of experience with enterprise compute platforms, operating systems and required system and data backup and recovery software agents and functionality. Operating system familiarity and basic navigation (Preferred)

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $124,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
