TEKsystems has a client that is looking for a Data Center Engineer whose primary role will be servicing, monitoring and maintaining their enterprise network.
Other duties will include:
o Review system messages, inspect equipment, and report issues to ensure hardware functionality and minimize downtime.
o Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds) monitoring or any software/ hardware failures and data center cooling, AC, humidity, fire panels, etc.
o Familiarity with network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring reliable connectivity
o Forecast resource requirements and coordinate with teams to scale data center operations based on evolving needs.
o Troubleshoot and respond to critical failures and emergencies, addressing hardware, network, or software issues and escalating when necessary.
o Develop and execute disaster recovery and backup plans to protect data and ensure business continuity during emergencies
o Maintain documentation of equipment, incidents, and maintenance activities, keeping records up to date for audit and troubleshooting purposes.
o Monitor power distribution and cooling systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions, ensuring energy efficiency and system reliability
o Prepare assets for disposal or relocation as needed, following established processes for decommissioning hardware.
o Create and assist with incident tickets, providing technical support and problem resolution in coordination with other IT teams.

Primary point of contact for Data Center technologies and related mechanical devices. Participates in projects to design and implement mechanical and electrical improvements to data centers.
