Main job is to make sure all HVAC and mechanical systems are installed, tested, integrated, and proven to work reliably before the facility goes live.
Responsibilities
- Types of Mechanical Equipment in Data Centers:
- Chillers, cooling towers, or modular chiller plants
- CRAH/CRAC units (Computer Room Air Handlers/Conditioners)
- In-row coolers or rear-door heat exchangers
- Chilled water distribution systems (pumps, piping, valves)
- Condenser water systems
- Air distribution systems, ductwork, dampers, and VFDs
- Economizers / free cooling systems
- Fuel systems for generators (if tied into HVAC systems, e.g. fuel oil heating)
- BMS integration for monitoring and controls
- Their job is to make sure the data center can keep its servers cool 24/7, under any operating or failure condition.
- They prove that cooling redundancy works, air and water systems are properly balanced, and all mechanical systems integrate seamlessly before the facility goes live.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years’ experience.
- Must have experience with Greenfield Data Centers.
- Deep understanding of power distribution in mission-critical facilities.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE standards, NETA ATS/MTS, and Uptime Institute / Tier guidelines.
- Strong coordination and leadership skills. He / she will eventually lead up to 6 people. These people will be Commissioning engineers and QA / QC.
- Ability to manage risk and troubleshoot during testing.
- Experience with large-scale commissioning schedules and reporting.
- As this will be a duplication of the North Campus, commissioning plans will not need to be designed, but some experience doing so is expected.

Leidos is looking to fill a Data Center Manager/Engineer position to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). This role will be responsible for the monitoring maintenance of all data center operations. This individual will collaborate with government customer to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities, monitor activities to confirm compliance, and track and report data center resource consumption (power, cooling, and rack space) to the Government. The Customer utilizes an Agile Framework to plan and successfully complete all initiatives.
This is a 100% on-site position. All work must be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities
+ Monitor activities to confirm compliance
+ Track and report data center resource consumption (power, cooling, and rack space).
+ Coordinate and control access and logistic support
+ Communicate maintenance intervals to affected stakeholders
+ Follow Datacenters procedures and processes
+ Establish new and/or modify existing procedures and processes for efficiency
+ Manage and coordinate the installation and maintenance of date center equipment
+ Ensure compliance with data center security protocols
+ Prepare reports on data center operations
+ Maintain data center documentation as assigned. These includes maintenance verifications documents, technical drawings, procurement documentations and related technical manuals
+ Supervise - engage and oversee vendors and subcontractors supporting data center
+ Control data center stocks (fiber, patch panels, connectors etc.)
+ Responsible of racking and stacking of servers and related devices
+ Design and implement server technologies in environments with multiple configurations
+ Assist in performing root cause analysis for operational issues that occur
+ Ensures safety all personnel/equipment on-site
+ Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommission of physical equipment. Rapidly distinguish between isolated server problems, network outages, and power/cooling issues that impact enterprise services.
+ Provide data center support 24/7 to respond to emergency incidents that affect mission-essential services
Basic Qualifications
+ Experience managing hardware configuration baselines
+ Experience with Data Center Strategy, Planning, and Roadmap maintenance
+ Experience with Data Center consolidation and cloud environment transition
+ Strong oral and written communications skills
+ Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives
+ Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results
+ Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
+ Experience monitoring environmental sensors and determining issues prior to impact to systems
Education:
+ Requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
+ Experience supervising others.
Clearance
+ Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
+ TS/SCI with CI Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to get a poly.

**Meet the Team**
Government Security Services (GSS) is looking for a Data Center Engineer to work in several secure environments to build, deploy, and support mission crucial networks. This candidate must have a TS/SCI. The successful candidate will work closely with a team supporting our government customers by delivering innovative and compliant technical solutions tailored to their critically important needs.
**Your Impact**
The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable solutions in government environments. This role involves providing day-to-day customer service to end users within the facility and ensuring flawless network operations. The individual will serve as the primary engineering resource for a customer base of 20-30 users, addressing their technical needs and ensuring efficient network performance.
+ Experience working on contracts mandating DIACAP, NISPOM and ICD requirements
+ Proficient in configuring, deploying and troubleshooting network functions within a secure environment
+ Teamwork: Be the bridge between the end users and the Government customer support system.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ DoD 8570 level III certification or DoD 8140 equivalent
+ Experienced in Linux and Windows systems and how they interact in the compute environment on the network.
+ Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
+ Experience with VMWare's vSphere virtualization suite
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with Centralized Logging Products (Splunk, etc.).
+ Experience with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
+ Experienced in Linux and Windows systems and how they interact in the compute environment on the network.
+ Experience in disaster recovery planning and network redundancy strategies

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:

About the Role
Main job is to make sure all HVAC and mechanical systems are installed, tested, integrated, and proven to work reliably before the facility goes live.
Responsibilities
- Types of Mechanical Equipment in Data Centers:
- Chillers, cooling towers, or modular chiller plants
- CRAH/CRAC units (Computer Room Air Handlers/Conditioners)
- In-row coolers or rear-door heat exchangers
- Chilled water distribution systems (pumps, piping, valves)
- Condenser water systems
- Air distribution systems, ductwork, dampers, and VFDs
- Economizers / free cooling systems
- Fuel systems for generators (if tied into HVAC systems, e.g. fuel oil heating)
- BMS integration for monitoring and controls
- Their job is to make sure the data center can keep its servers cool 24/7, under any operating or failure condition.
- They prove that cooling redundancy works, air and water systems are properly balanced, and all mechanical systems integrate seamlessly before the facility goes live.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years experience.
- Must have experience with Greenfield Data Centers.
- Deep understanding of power distribution in mission-critical facilities.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE standards, NETA ATS/MTS, and Uptime Institute / Tier guidelines.
- Strong coordination and leadership skills. He / she will eventually lead up to 6 people. These people will be Commissioning engineers and QA / QC.
- Ability to manage risk and troubleshoot during testing.
- Experience with large-scale commissioning schedules and reporting.
- As this will be a duplication of the North Campus, commissioning plans will not need to be designed, but some experience doing so is expected.
