The Supervisor of Data Center Network Engineering is responsible for leading a team of network engineers in the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of Data Center and WAN (Wide Area Network) infrastructure across a large-scale, distributed healthcare system. The role ensures secure, high-performing, and highly available data center services for 60+ hospitals and 300+ clinical locations.
This position requires hands-on technical leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to manage complex networking projects in a mission-critical, regulated healthcare environment. The role also involves managing and integrating a multivendor network environment, requiring deep expertise in coordinating technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and other enterprise vendors to ensure interoperability, security, and performance across all healthcare sites.
**Key Responsibilities:** **Team Leadership & Management**
+ Supervise a team of LAN/WAN engineers and technicians, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
+ Provide technical direction and prioritize team activities to meet organizational goals and SLAs.
+ Act as an escalation point for critical network issues.
**Data Center Design, Implementation, and Operations**
+ Oversee the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise data center infrastructure.
+ Ensure high availability, redundancy, and optimal performance across all facilities.
+ Integrate solutions from multiple vendors to maintain a consistent and reliable network architecture.
+ Coordinate with facilities and IT teams to support expansions, renovations, and new data center builds or migrations.

**Project & Change Management**
+ Lead data center-related initiatives, including network refreshes and mergers/acquisitions.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
+ Maintain documentation and manage change control in accordance with policy.
**Security & Compliance**
+ Ensure secure Data Center Network and WAN configurations, enforcing access controls and segmentation.
+ Support compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and internal cybersecurity frameworks.
+ Work closely with the Security team on incident response, audits, and risk management.
**Monitoring & Troubleshooting**
+ Oversee use of monitoring systems to detect and resolve performance issues.
+ Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and implement corrective actions.
+ Continuously improve network health and uptime metrics.
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, including 2+ in a leadership role.
+ Demonstrated experience with large-scale data center environments.
+ Proficiency in routing/switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
+ Experience with Cisco and at least one other major vendor (e.g., Juniper, Palo Alto).
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and operational focus.
+ Experience communicating and working with vendor partners to evaluate capabilities.
**Preferred:**
+ Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP, PCNSE, JNCIP).
+ Experience supporting cloud network environments (GCP, Azure, AWS)
+ Experience supporting multivendor network environments (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).

This role can be remote in NYC, SF, Seattle, or Austin. This is a full-time, permanent role with competitive salary and equity package, in addition to bonus and benefits.
The DC Infrastructure Architect (Optical) is responsible for translating logical network topologies into a scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized optical and structured cabling design for hyper-scale data centers. This role owns the end-to-end physical implementation of the data center network (DCN), including fiber plant architecture, transceiver planning, and integration with structured cabling ecosystems.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Logical / Physical Mapping
- Break down DCN logical port maps (TOR, spine, super-spine, DCI) into physical cross-connect and patching schedules.
- Automate port-to-fiber mapping at scale (100K+ ports per site).
Fiber Plant Design
- Define cassette types (MTP/MPO Base-8/12/16), trunk counts, and structured cabling hierarchy.
- Plan cassette placement within racks, rows, and meet-me-rooms.
- Model fiber utilization and overbuild for 2-3 hardware generations.
Optics / Transceiver Planning
- Select optics (400G/800G DR4, FR4, LR4, SR8, coherent DCI) based on reach and loss budget.
- Validate interoperability across vendors and generations.
- Maintain loss budget and margin models for every link type.
Structured Cabling & Physical Implementation
- Define patching architectures (direct MPO vs. breakout vs. mid-span).

Scalability & Lifecycle Management

**Daily Job Duties**
+ On-site vendor management - Responsible for all connectivity activities within expansions, and projects on site including tracking and reporting actual progress related to schedule expectations. Set and communicate clear expectations with the immediate site team, build key relationships with our installation partners and drive a culture of standard methodology, safe working environment, and complete to a vision of 'right first time.'
+ Quality Assurance - Perform physical inspections to ensure vendor work meets quality standards throughout the build of the data center. Validate physical installs, test reports, build accuracy, and material through all network expansions.
+ Project Planning & Control - Create, maintain, and report daily on-site project and program scope, schedules and achievements. Work closely with the site Data Center Operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Ensure LV vendor cabling/fiber equipment is calibrated and measured to OCI specifications.
+ Manage daily work through internal tooling systems such as JIRA Ticketing and Confluence.
+ Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
+ Documentation of activities and strict consistency to SOP's.
+ Understand, interpret, and alignment to local site requirements.
+ Be punctual in arriving for shifts on time and provide proper handover reports after shift to the next team member(s).
+ Participate and complete training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies.
+ Train peers in industry standards.
**Responsibilities**
**Requirements**
+ 3 to 5 years working in with structured cabling.
+ Expert knowledge of industry cable tests procedures and equipment use for multiple cabling systems. (Copper/fiber testing, OTDR, VFL, etc.)
+ Expert Knowledge of industry cabling standards.
+ Excellent time management skills.
+ Diligent with excellent organizational skills.
+ Be a good teammate with an ability to work independently.
+ Strong interest in learning new DC networking concepts and technology.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to travel within a dedicated Availability Domain (region)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience
+ 3 year+ experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber and testing of cables.
+ Ability to read and comprehend cut-sheets and cabling matrices
