Job Summary/Basic Function

The team of Data Control Technicians for the Office of Admissions is responsible for processing prospects, inquiries and applicants in the CRM system (Slate). The Data Control Technician staff will also work in the University SIS System (Banner) and track transcripts, update checklists for applicants and new students, and provide administrative support to the Office of Admissions as needed. Data Control Technicians complete status/term changes as requested by admission staff and maintain all returned mail for the Office of Admissions. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment for the process of matriculating students from inquiry to student, managing external communications, and works alongside Recruitment Specialists regarding applicant files and updates. This position serves in a data-processing role, performing duties related to application processing and data maintenance of all new applicant files by updating and maintaining records for prospective students. This position will require high volume data entry and the on-going development and maintenance of a detailed tracking and correspondence system. Data entry staff members manage specific projects as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews application information pertaining to prospective students in the CRM system (Slate) with accuracy and in a timely manner for an admission decision
  • Assembles and mail information about the University and admissions policies and procedures to prospective students as requested.
  • Assists students in completing forms as required.
  • Performs routine clerical work as needed including preparing daily mail, typing forms and reports, copying and filing documents, assembling materials, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or other electrical field (3+ years of professional experience working with controls or electrical systems will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • 2+ years of experience working with instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, flow meters, multimeters, or oscilloscopes

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge in signal conditioning concepts for various types of sensors, to include the following: thermocouple Types K, S, and E; TC bonding concepts: resistance weld on and adhesive bond on types; TC probes through thermowell sheaths; cold junction compensation concepts
  • Background should include experience with the following devices: DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, UPS installations, heat shrink tubing, cable harnessing, lacing, and proper strain relief concepts
  • Working knowledge of transducers, operational amplifiers, and the knowledge of measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow, displacement, vibration, and the application of strain gauges is also highly desired. SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Data Control Technician supports internal and external customers in data entry, aircraft records and paperwork control. Provides customer support to various areas within the company as needed.

+ Assists patrons over the phone and through email. Ensures transactions are entered promptly and accurately for accounting. Enters customer data information. Performs radio calls to assist with customer concerns.
+ Provides clear lines of communication between management, office staff, and field staff.
+ Tracks and logs data, such as jobs dispatched. Provides information to internal and external customers in regard to assigned area.
+ May monitors premises using CCTV and Remote Access Control.

About the Team:

The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R
right here at our headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians
with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. The scope and
scale are significant, with test stands capable of handling millions of pounds of force. Team members lead multiple
projects in parallel, avoiding silos and gaining broad technical experience without needing a background in
aerospace. With high-impact campaigns ahead, including thrust structure and stage 2 testing, now is the time to
join. You won't just execute, but you'll help shape and scale the test infrastructure required to meet the demands
of a rapidly growing launch program.

About the Role:

  • Design, build, and operate a diverse set of world class testing assets
  • Foster the growth and development of high-performance engineering teams, in partnership with the Factory Test leadership team
  • Lead the DACS hardware group in the development, deployment, and maintenance of our data and control systems
  • Responsible for technical mentorship and talent development of your team. Your role will entail both deep technical and people leadership responsibilities
  • Liaison and advocate with our various software and partner electrical teams
  • Responsible for allocating resources, providing technical direction, and enforcing best practices within your team

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience developing, activating, and troubleshooting electrical and software systems
  • Fundamental understanding of low voltage, DC electronics
  • Familiarity with data and control systems (SCADA, PLC's, NI, Beckhoff, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and gain consensus with incomplete information and many stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks in complex systems. * Strong desire to mentor, teach, and support career growth of others
  • No previous aerospace experience is required

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience in a time-critical operations environment
  • Experience writing software in one or more systems programming languages
  • Knowledge and experience of sensing systems for pressure, strain, force, temperature, and acceleration
  • Experience with camera-based sensing technologies (Digital Image Correlation, Motion Amplification, etc.)
