Koch Capabilities is seeking an experienced Data Management Analyst to join our Data Management, Enablement, and Transformation (DMET) team! The ideal candidate has previous experience working within Finance, Tax, or Accounting, is self-motivated, works well with ambiguity, is a creative problem solver with the aptitude to drive change, and builds and maintains trusted partnerships with customers.

Our vision is to develop a long-term sustainable capability utilizing data and technology to transform finance, while focusing on safeguarding Koch Finance Data Assets. We aim for our products to be easily reusable, highly transferable, andreadily available incentralized and standardizedformats.

What You Will Do

  • Lead initiatives to centralize, standardize, and safeguard master data across Finance, Tax, and Accounting domains.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of master data management (MDM) processes, policies, and standards.
  • Partner with multiple business groups and data product teams to gather requirements, design, and implement data management solutions that are reusable and scalable.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for finance-related data, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive data profiling of datasets-assessing completeness, accuracy, consistency and validity-to ensure all data meets agreed-upon fitness-for-use criteria.
  • Bring creative insights and innovative ideas to streamline and enhance finance processes through advanced data transformation techniques, driving efficiency and value-added decision support.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, leveraging technology to transform and optimize data workflows.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to understand needs, clarify expectations, and deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for data governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in data processes and proposing scalable solutions (automation, tooling, workflow enhancements).

**The opportunity**
The Finance Applications Data Manager is a crucial role responsible for supporting the Finance Applications Data Lead in executing the overall data management strategy for finance applications. The successful candidate will leverage their deep expertise finance applications (planning, reporting, close/consolidation) coupled with deep skills in enterprise data management, data governance, data quality, master data management, Machine Learning, and Generative AI (Gen AI) to support key finance personas. The Finance Applications Data Manager will work closely with finance, IT, and data science teams to support the effective management and utilization of finance application data, harnessing the power of Machine Learning, Gen AI, and Azure data technologies to drive innovation and business value through the development and implementation of the Azure Finance Lakehouse solution offering.

POSITION PURPOSE

The data analytics developer will support both internal and external clients including large industrial facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, and oil & gas facilities. The primary responsibilities are development of data assets in Microsoft Fabric and building reports / dashboards to facilitate client/management data analysis. Internal development initiatives are also planned to incorporate operational data into Microsoft Fabric and support our data-centric AI initiatives. This role may include direct client engagement and a portion of time will be billable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Perform Environmental customer support activities including:

• Ensure timely delivery of Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reports to Ops Managers and Site Supervisors

• Engineer production-quality data solutions to streamline and make repeatable applications focused on LDAR inspection activities

• Collaborate with PROtect management and client to understand and document reporting business requirements

• Perform ad hoc data analysis to support PROtect management and client using tools such as Python and Excel

• Perform activities in support of company-wide data initiatives:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.

• Build data movement and transformations within Microsoft Fabric to populate data structures

• Build semantic data models including DAX calculations within Fabric/Power BI

• Design and build Power BI reports (as needed)

• Create requirement and process documentation

• Perform quality testing

Responsibilities

Job Title: Data Engineer

Position Function: The Data Engineer & Architect plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the district's data infrastructure. As the key technical expert bridging the gap between the district's data analysts and leadership, this position ensures that all data pipelines, transformations, and integrations are optimized for reliability, security, and compliance with FERPA/HIPAA. The Data Engineer & Architect will leverage Microsoft-based solutions (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Power BI ecosystem) to drive scalable, automated data workflows that support Wichita Public Schools' strategic vision and shared beliefs.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development & Management
    • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Microsoft tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS) to ingest and transform data from diverse sources (Oracle, on-premises systems, cloud services).
    • Implement data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes to ensure high levels of data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, proactively addressing bottlenecks or failures to maintain seamless, reliable operations.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling
    • Architect and optimize data structures, including relational (star, snowflake) and dimensional models, within Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, or similar platforms.
    • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models that align with district needs for analytics, compliance, and reporting.
    • Collaborate with Data Analysts and the Director of Assessment & Research to ensure data structures effectively support key metrics, dashboards, and advanced analytics projects.

    • Collaborate with the Information Services and Technology personnel to implement best practices for data governance, security, and lifecycle management.
    • Ensure all data engineering processes adhere to FERPA, HIPAA, and district data privacy guidelines.
    • Assist with defining and enforcing data standards, naming conventions, and documentation to enhance consistency and transparency.
  • DataOps & Automation
    • Implement DataOps practices (continuous integration, version control, automated testing) to streamline data development and reduce errors.
    • Manage environments and releases for data pipelines, including dev, test, and production, coordinating with IT and other stakeholders.
    • Introduce best practices around DevOps in Azure, leveraging scripts, templates, and modern deployment strategies.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with Data Analysts, providing properly structured datasets and ensuring minimal friction in analytics and reporting.
    • Partner with district IT teams and other departments to align architectural decisions with broader technology initiatives.
    • Communicate technical concepts and project updates to non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment of expectations.


    Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or other district leadership in support of Wichita Public Schools' strategic goals and mission.

    Equipment: This position may require the use of standard office technology such as computers, copiers, and scanners, as well as Microsoft Azure-based tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database).
