Jerry is looking for a Data scientist to join our growing team! We hit a huge milestone in early 2024 by achieving profitability and have ambitious goals for the next few years — scale from 5M to 50M customers and become a $1 B business. As a data scientist, you will play a key role in championing data-driven decisions across the company’s most critical business initiatives (including carrier growth and development, building new products from 0-1, etc.). How you will make an impact:

• Partner with marketing, product, and business development teams to integrate customer performance insights into user and partner acquisition strategies

The Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds makes a meaningful contribution to the success of our company. This role is broadly responsible for value proposition refinement and supports key customers by providing world-class analytics and insight into our vast store of live data, turning insights and model predictions into program and product recommendations.

This position collaborates extensively with business units and channels across the company and supports the business goals of external clients.

This role will focus on building and optimizing machine learning models and AI systems that support key business functions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Marketing, Client Success, and Product teams to transform business challenges into actionable insights.

The Data scientist will report directly to the Engineering Manager, and will work closely with the Engineering team, and other technology leaders to ensure that existing and new data solutions follow best practices and are highly performant.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Data scientist will play a pivotal role in developing and applying machine learning models, NLP techniques, and deep learning methods to solve complex business problems. The role will focus on innovation, scalability, and the integration of AI-driven solutions into business processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions that deliver measurable business impact through advanced analytics, experimentation, and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Azure machine learning models for business applications such as forecasting, segmentation, conversion scoring, churn prediction, and scheduling optimization

• Design, validate, and optimize AI-driven solutions using machine learning, NLP, and generative models to support business decision-making processes

• Train, validate, and iterate on models to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business goals

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and transform them into actionable analytical frameworks

• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability

• Fine-tune and optimize AI models to improve accuracy and efficiency

• Conduct experiments and apply non-experimental methods to quantify the impact of AI solutions

• Utilize statistical methods such as probability, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing to enhance model performance

• Communicate technical findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Manage end-to-end development of analytic and predictive models with minimal supervision, ensuring quality and timely delivery

• Stay up-to-date with advancements in AI technologies, machine learning, and deep learning to continuously improve solutions

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Experience: 3+ years of experience working with Azure Machine Learning Services/Studio

• Expertise in data cleansing, feature engineering, model training and testing, and MLOps

• Experience using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow

• Strong programming skills in Python or R, with a focus on model training and integration

• Experience with classification, regression, and NLP best practices

• Familiarity with AI deployment pipelines and cloud-based solutions, specifically Azure

• Strong understanding of model performance, optimization, and scalability

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to innovate and troubleshoot complex issues

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences
