Position Summary
The Critical Care team is looking for a co-op or intern to support our early-stage research and development programs. The candidate will be involved in solving data science and data analytics problems. With defined requirements, the candidate will be responsible for designing algorithms for products, building machine learning tools and doing data analysis.
Implement machine learning for new or existing algorithms
Design and translate algorithms for products and internal analysis tool
Research in new applications of data science within the company
Conduct data analysis for internal or external groups
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and training of Machine Learning models for Clinical Decision Support
Provide input into process development and improvement
Analyze data and present results to larger Engineering team
Minimum Requirements
Senior, Master's or PhD student pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, or Statistics
Strong Machine Learning background with experience in Deep Learning (along with tools like Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch), time series modeling, LLMs, natural language processing.
Proficient in at least one programming language (Python preferred) and solid understanding of data structures & algorithms.
Solid understanding of statistics, strong analytical skills
Self-motivated, execute tasks in a timely manner
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Requirements
Demonstrated experience with tuning and evaluating Large Language Models on variety of tasks including Named Entity Recognition and Question-Answering
Knowledge in Data Science / Machine Learning libraries (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, sklearn, nltk)
Experience in signal processing
Big data / cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Hadoop, Spark, Hive)
Displayed interest in medical device industry

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$23.00/hr to $1.50/hrAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
The expected pay range for this position is between 23.00 per hour and 51.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
