As a Data Specialist for CGS, you will help our government client in processing data using LAW. The ideal candidate will regularly load large volumes of production data; running exports from the database for creating discovery party productions. Downloading files from our file sharing tool, JEFS, and performing quality control on load and export files to ensure accuracy is vital to this job position.

Skills and attributes for success:
- Modify load files and perform quality control on loaded data quickly and accurately
- Assist with creating and updating document processing procedures as needed
- Run multiple load streams simultaneously
- Perform native file processing in LAW
- Export data from Relativity to create load files for other various platforms as requested by Case Manager
- Performs data conversion processing, including conversions of various document types
- Perform special format data conversions and file manipulation requests
- Handle quality control on load files and Relativity data loads and exports
- Perform advanced requests, such as creating data exports for productions and performing quality control on files, and complicated overlays or appends, privilege clawbacks, and sequestration of documents
- Perform quality control to confirm accuracy on loads completed by new Data Specialists
- Provide hands-on training to other Data Specialist as needed
- Perform basic Relativity searching and global updates to mark and/or tag records as requested; to include confirming record counts in Save Searches and Image redactions prior to creating exports for production
- Clearly and accurately discusses data inconsistencies found with Project Manager
- Assists on calls relating to data load file formats or media encryption software with Case Manager and other IT individuals as requested

- Design and implement Cooper’s Hawk’s first formal data governance framework, policies, and processes.
- Establish the foundational governance operating model, including roles, responsibilities, and stewardship structure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Marketing, Operations, Finance, IT, Culinary, and Wine Club to understand data needs and align governance priorities.
- Lead cross-functional governance forums or councils to foster alignment and accountability across departments on data assets definition and certification.
- Partner with business teams to identify and define enterprise KPIs, metrics, and data definitions to ensure consistency in reporting and analytics.
- Develop and maintain a business glossary and metadata repository for shared understanding of key data assets.
- Define data quality rules and measurements for core domains such as guest data, transactions, reservations, membership, and financials.
- Implement data quality dashboards and processes for ongoing monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and enforce policies around data privacy, classification, and access, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy policies.
- Work with IT and legal teams to manage data risk, support audits, and establish clear data handling protocols.
- Provide governance leadership on enterprise projects including personalization, advanced analytics, CRM integration, and loyalty/membership expansion.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing governance and cataloging tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation).
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management.
- Proven track record of building or significantly contributing to a data governance program from scratch including data quality framework, metadata management framework and data stewardship model.
- Strong experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and data standards.
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or wine/retail industry.
- Familiarity with CRM, POS, ERP, Azure platform, and loyalty/membership platforms.
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, or governance tools.
- Experience with Azure Purview is a plus.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with ability to influence across levels.
- Play a critical leadership role in shaping enterprise data culture from the ground up.

Responsibilities
Position Purpose:
We are hiring a Director of Data Governance to lead our enterprise-wide data governance program. Reporting to the CDO, this role will drive the creation and execution of policies, standards, and controls that ensure trusted, compliant, and secure data usage-across internal domains and external partnerships. You'll work cross-functionally with Cybersecurity, TPRM (Third-Party Risk Management), Legal, Privacy, Risk, and Platform teams , and help build scalable governance with a strong focus on data and AI governance .
This role will be responsible for creating the policies, roadmap, and control structure that effectively manage cost and risk while setting the foundation to unlock the full value of data -enabling growth, operational speed, and margin expansion.
Primary duties will include:
- Design and implement a data governance framework and operating model that balances control and enablement.
- Develop policies around data quality, classification, access, retention, and AI/ML usage .
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity and TPRM to govern entitlements, third-party sharing, and risk controls.
- Lead AI governance efforts to ensure responsible use of models and training data.
- Partner with architecture, platform and engineering teams to operationalize governance using tools like Unity Catalog (Databricks) and enterprise data catalogs.
- Drive adoption of metadata management, lineage, and stewardship practices .
- Establish mechanisms that optimize data usage for business growth while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance .
- Support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and data ethics initiatives.
- Build and grow a lean, high-impact governance team over time.
To land this role you will need:
- 10+ years in data governance, data management, or related roles.
- Deep understanding of data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks .
- Familiarity with Unity Catalog (Databricks) , Alation, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools.
- Experience operationalizing AI/ML governance in business or regulatory contexts.
- Strong ability to navigate cross-functional environments and influence without authority.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, or closely related field and three (5) years of experience as Technology Lead or Technology Project Manager.

The US national base salary range for this position is from
$84,700.00 - $157,300.00
The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
In addition to base salary, the anticipated range of which is posted above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus which rewards participants based on individual and/or company performance.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Research & Evaluation, the Data Specialist will build and maintain a data management system that drives the Learning & Community (L&C) division-helping to track progress, identify growth opportunities, and measure impact over time. Acting as a connector, this role brings together data from multiple systems and sources to create a unified, accurate, and accessible view of the division's work. The Data Specialist will help to manage both structured and unstructured data, automate processes, create reports and visualizations, and build custom dashboards that support L&C goals.
The Data Specialist will also support the department's research and evaluation efforts, including helping to collect, analyze, and report on quantitative and qualitative research data.
